What`s the best you guys`ve gotten?

I had a weird occurence below Spellhold when I encountered Bodhi by the minotaur statue with my 15 or so level Elf Assassin. I sneaked behind her while invisible, but had my first Slayer change and ended up backstabbing with sextuple damage in Slayer mode doing 194 points.

yes guys, you knew this was coming, you can add backstab multipliers as high as you want. go to affects in sk, and you can actually locate the backstab affects lines. copy and paste, and you can create 12-20 x backstabs...

but what porbably happend, ozmo, is the slayre has str 25, so you just did backstabs with crom feyr in off hand, with base damage of around 50 or so. htats what I get when I draw on holy might and whacked with holy avenger on some poor git, and get a critical strike hit..or death bringer, but thats another story.

Not sure what you meant, but I didn`t edit anything or use any fancy weapons (couldn`t have Crom Fayer yet at asylum, so was uning Daystar). I suppose people with level 40 Assassins ToB have waaaay topped my 194, though.

Your 194 damage isn't all that weird. Your assassin has a 6x backstab multiplier and the daystar does x2 damage against undead. So that's x12 damage. I'm not sure how all the rules stack in the game so I could be wrong.

In the last bg2 game I did 200 backstab dmg, actually not once but many times - usually vs trolls, beholders, mf and kobolds !... the big guys, such as dragons(shadow) some of the beholders and a golem or two weren't backstabble at all , the odd thing about it that a beholder in the tuna tunnels in the underdark wasn't backstabble while adalon was easily backstabbed for 60dmg (critical hit). It depends on the character level or what???

@Ozmo - you can backstab in the sleyer form COOL!!! I didn't know it was possible. thanx for the info.

For some reason Daystar has never seemed to affect my backstabs. The damages have been pretty equal to those I`ve done to other creatures etc.

ok maybe i'm splitting hairs here but isn't it a strange idea that you could hide in shadows when in slayer form (from a RP PoV)? i mean, that slayer thing is so huge and ugly, it seems rather unlikely it would go unnoticed. consequently, it would be possible with aid of an invisibility spell (again RP PoV). don't get me wrong, i like backstabbing the hell out of things too, though i prefer a RP approach.
maybe we should divide the backstab record in 2 categories : Powergaming vs. Roleplaying...

This reminds me of how I got 40 damage with no back stab or Critical

I`m not sure if you can usually backstab in Slayer mode, the time I did it was the first change that I had no control over. I gotta go try it now, though.

I remeber is once got 110 /w 23 str, kundane and x6 backstab. it was also a critical hit and was against entreri.i was soloing assassin and wanted to see if i could go toe to toe /w such a famous one.got his dagger as a bonus
