Dual-Class Ranger/Cleric or Multi-Class Cleric/Ranger?

I know the thinking in SoA was dual the ranger at lvl 9 and get the cleric to whatever level (17?). In ToB however it would seem wiser to use the half-elf cleric/ranger. What is better, Multi or Dual?

you are correct - in ToB, it IS better to make a multi Ranger/Cleric but if you dont have ToB, the best pick is a Stalker/Cleric dual.
this Dual is banned with ToB installed.

Multi
A ranger/cleric is always better multied. The primary reason for the Ranger/Cleric is to get both druid and cleric spells. If you dual at 9 you hardly get any druid spells.

That is incorrect. This is weird, but even if you dual the ranger at level 9, you'll still get ALL the druid spells, including 7th level's spells

Wow, that is weird. Is that a bug or how it's supposed to be? Well then in that case a dualled Ranger/Cleric becomes an extremely interesting class.
I guess if you wanted to keep improving as a warrior you would multi. I think I'll give the ranger cleric a try.

Yes, I prefer Ranger/Cleric Dual-Class better. It's common knowledge that you have all the spells as a Druid/Cleric/Ranger from start, it's only the problem of getting the memorizing slots, so in essence, you would still get all the Druid spells if you did a dual.

Let's call it a bad implementation.
In PnP there are Spheres of magic for priests, a dual ranger/cleric would have MINOR access to the druidic spheres (only spells of levels 1, 2 and 3).
Should I take a ranger/cleric, I would go for multi, as this class is
"legitimate" (I like to follow the PnP rules when possible)

The only advantage the multi has over the dual is the high level fighter abilities. If you have SoA the dual is better at everything. Hp thaco number of spells etc.
In ToB it is closer between the two. I would say 5-6 character party - dual 4 or less multi.
In SoA you should dual at level 7.
