How does THAC0 progress for a multiclass character like a ranger/cleric? As opposed to a multi ranger/cleric?

THAC0 for Multis is that of the class with the best THAC0 progression.

So a 7th level fighter/8th level mage multi class has the THAC0 of a 7th level fighter.

Okay.. so how does it work for dual classes? Say I dual at level 9 from a fighter to a druid, when I come back to fighter, do I have level 9 fighter THAC0 in addition to my level 9+ druid THAC0?
