Underdark Help (spoiler requested)

i just killed the mind flayers and umber hulks and pharae and soulafien are alive, yet soulafien wont talk, he just says that his mind is to the future or something to that effect. i went back to Ust Natha to find the matron mothers messenger, but i couldnt. I checked my journal and it hasnt been updated from the quest beginnings even though i am done with the combat. am i missing something really easy here? help!

do you mean that my party injured her or that she cant be injured by any enemy during the battle?

I recommend re-loading from a prior save and trying again. When you go meet Soulafein outside Ust Natha, save the game before speaking to him, then speak to him once. Do not leave the area until the "Rescue Phaere" plot is finished and do not initiate any more dialogs with Soulafein until you return to the city.
The Ust Natha quests are very buggy, so you will save yourself a lot of grief if you make an archive save at the start of each quest.
