I got a problem, i tried to make my own Bow, but everytime i tried (with Team bg) it backfired.
In tried it 4 times but all the time i had too reinstall the game cause something went wrong.

Now here is my question: Would someone might be willing too make a bow for me (ill give description and abbilities when i get reply).

I understand if noone is willing cause it takes some time too make such a thing (but ill try anyway )

An incredibly simple way to create an item is to look at items with in the game and add mods from those,

Why not consider the equiped abilities you want your bow to have, mr or ac bonus or extra spells.. the list goes on and take a look at existing items that have those effects

eg if you wanted a bow that gave non detection, haste and magic resistance you could simply extract the boots of speed cloak of non detection and amulet of 5% mr to your overide folders, open them with infinity pro and copy the extension headers pasting them onto your bow.. all that then remains is to fill out the basics like speed factor thaco bonus to hit bonus ect ect

If you still want someone else to do it, post the info and ill give it a bash

I tried it again, but this time i cant even look up the items.

Example: i decided too change the Elven Court Bow +3 as i want it too be. But when i even tried 2 find it: Tools-> find-> items-> (bow name). It gave me this error: IPLOT01K.ITM

*grumble*

Any solutions?

Download Infinity Explorer to look at items in the game. This utility will also allow you to save out items so you can edit them.

I cant edit a weapon, but i think thats because of me (not that great with the comp......... just loving this game)

Could u please tell me how to use this infinity explorer correctly?
Ive tried too search how too use it.....but it doesnt give me a good description.

It's easy to use - making sense of the data takes a bit more work.

When you open up a game with it - it will show you a whole list of folders. Click on the '+' next to the items folder to expand it. Scroll down the list until you find the bows. Let's say you want to edit the Elven Court Bow. So you would click on BOW12 and then click the save icon on the toolbar. While you're at it, change the name to something different - but keep the length of the name to 8 characters or less (exclusive of the extension) and make sure it has the .ITM extension. After that, you'll need to exit Infinity Explorer before using TeamBG's editor, or it will give you an error when you try to change the description.

shadow keeper is a much easier way to extract items.. simply load it and go to the item browser and extract that item to the overide folder in bg.. then find the item there, its very easy (never used infinity explorer myself)

I would really appreciate it if u could create the item., but.......

Don’t take this as an offence, I would prefer too make the item myself. Else I can stay busy with asking people too create an item for me.........and I actually don’t want that too happen. (also I think many people will laugh when they c the description that I give to an item J ).

So I would prefer it if u could explain me very detailed (and then I mean REALLY detailed) how too create an item. (that is if I don’t bother u guys too much).

If it doesn’t work then, well I hope I can still ask u guys too create one for me

OK, first off, when editing an item, I prefer to use a hex editor - though when I've finished testing it, I've been using the TeamBG's IEEP to change the item description (and update the dialog.tlk file).

I don't try to create one from scratch - I look for a similar item with Infinity Explorer and save that to my working directory (which I called MyStuff to remind me where the heck it's at ). I also save any items that have effects I want my new item to have - that way I can see how the developers implemented them. As for figuring out what bytes to change, I refer to the guide here on .ITM file formats.

If you would prefer to use IEEP to make your bow, there is a tutorial here.

Ok Sojourner...........i tried, but i cant even start editing the items.

So here is my question: u offered me b4 to make an item for me. Does this still count?

If it does, can i send u an email which contains the proper instructions for the BoW (and an second item: Armor)?
