Ranger/cleric vs dual + shadow keeper help

Hi, i have a party a fair way into SOA and one of my characters is a dual classed human ranger/cleric, he is doing nicely. But, i have started to wonder if a multiclass half elf ranger/cleric might not be the better choice for the long term?
I intend to play this party all the way through TOB and thus i could easily get the multiclass to a nice level. Am i wrong about the multiclass being better in the long run?

So, enter shadowkeeper, i tried to change my dual clas to a multiclass but i can't seem to make it work? I find no switch i can set with SK to change my dual class into a multi, is this not possible?

Edit: Sorry for the confusion - what I remembered was doing something else. (I really need more sleep. :p )

Thanks for the quick reply Sojourner, but it didn't work to just change the race to half-elf. I even tried to give him a lot of XP and level him up - but he still only advances in his cleric class.
Any other ideas?

Hm, I could have sworn that worked. All right, move your game to the mpsave directory, re-start the game in multi-player mode, give your PC's items to a party member, remove your PC and create or import a new one. Save, and move the game back to the save directory.

Thanks, that did work. Converted the game to a mpgame, added a ranger/cleric to my liking and gave him all my current ones stuff, removed the old one and gave him the same # of xp as my old one with SK - problem solved. Thanks a lot.

The only thing you'll miss out on is the statstics of XP value in game, chapter and so on.
