The hardest NPC Help!--Possible Spoilers

Hi

I'm new to the forums so thanks for reading this.

This is my second time through the game. I wanted to be an evil party. Anyway here is the situation.

I'm ready to go to chapter 6, and I felt the need to kill everyone in the city. I saved the shadow thieves for last because I liked them. I almost let them live, but I flipped a coin and it came up heads, so they had to die. The problem is when I wacked Renal ?, so this dude teleported in and killed my PC, Korgan, and Viconia before Renal's body hits the ground. Edwin would have been pushing up daisies too, but it was a projected image. Anyway who is this guy?

He's the reason why I didn't do what you did. If he isn't unkillable, he is close enough that I never have killed him.

I believe him to be unkillable unless you transform into a Mindflayer and Intelligence drain him. You're not supposed to be able to kill Renal if you side with the thieves since that might hang the game up.

Renal was *very* killable for me, after finishing his quest and getting the needed money I wasted all his party and headed to bodhi and the asylum. As you see I'm not familiar with your situation and will be happy if you make it clear for me...

Renal's not the problem. The guy that teleports in is the problem. I guess I will let them live. Actually, a friend of mine told me it's really his sword that is awesome.

I beleive the CLUA command for his sword is

Killsw01

dont let the simple apearance fool you, it makes you immune to almost everything sets attacks to about 7 thaco to about -40 and does about 900-1500 dmg per hit

This is why I always side with Bodhi:
You get to kill the Shadow Thieves in Ch 2 (who are charming but after all they *do* employ torturers) and the Vampires in Ch 6. Best of both worlds for a Chaotic Good character.

The guy who is killing you is Artemis, a high level assasin who serves as a bodyguard for all the shadow thieves. Unless you side with bodhi, you cant fight the S T or it will wreck the gameplay. Basically he is always in shadows, but you can kill him by
casting true sight
time stop
shapechange --> mindflayer
and intelligence draining him. Or use any other wpn that drains actual stats, because he wears a girdle that does not allow the wearer to drop below 1 hp. It isnt dropped though, neither is the sword. To bad eh?

He is not wielding killsw01 but another instant death sword, a sword that looks like the short sword of backstabbing.

I did of course mean that you're not supposed to be able to kill Renal - and get away with it - if you side with the thieves, since that may hang the game up.

The person spawning in is not Artemis Entreri, the arch nemesis of Drizzt (you need to CLUA him in), but Arkanis Gath (or something familiar). Arkanis is the unkillable one, without using the advanced startegies. Make a search on Arkanis and you'll find all info needed.

Yup, the guy who comes to kill you is Arkanis Gath, the #1 assassin of the Shadow Thieves. He`s also the same guy who comes to help you against Bodhi if you go to Linvail for help, but even if he dies against the Vampires (very, very easy to happen), then he`ll appear at the ST Guildhall if you attack anybody.

Oh man we have aboout 10,000 threads on this guy. Search for his name. There are tons of strategies made by people such as changing into a mind flayer to name one.

Reply for ThorinOakensfield : If you would read the initial post, you may discover I had no knowledge as to the name of this individual. I recently learned the name due to Astafas' and Ozmo's post. Also, I did a search on the name as you recomended, and it produced 13 replies the first on on July 2000. I'm curious as to how you got 9,987 more replies than I did. In otherwords, there is a huge difference between 13 and 10,000.

If that is your conclusion, then why talk about anything. There has only be a total of 9,939 threads on this board covering all topics. If your conclusion is that 13 threads on this board is pretty damn close to 10,000; how can a minimal portion of the whole item be larger than the whole item. Please explain your logic. For example, what permises are you using to justify your arguement.
