so i did the githyanki want the silver sword quest, and since I deleted clck26.itm file from my ovverride directory I had the real cloak of reflection, and what is it about the gith?? they love lightning bolt...grrr...bounced off me, and killed a bystander, lost rep...

got me thinking...if a bounced lightning bolt, from clua item "laser" which creates a endless lightning ammo, like the big metal unit pulsar, is bounced off me and is tagged by game as damage caused by user, certain other effects, like g deathblow, should as well. wnt off to watchers, waiting for lv 4, so can test in flayer lair...

well, in the githyanki canmp, some gith in the last room threw lightning at me, a second after I killed some with g deathblow and frag grenade. lighning bounced, killed them both!!! instantly, with the red spark animation of g deathblow struck home!!!

so if I cast g deathblow in room full of flayers, teh bouncing lightning bolts, like bouncing ferrets!!! should deliver g deathblow, or even for fun, do without and torture them...

funny enough in itself, but here is a another test i did in watchers...

you know how some of us have plain swords and staffs to get thru prot from magic weapons???

here is an exploit. fire plain arrows thru gesen bow and firetooth crossbow, you get the elemental damage modifier and still it punches thru prot from magic weapons!!!

was I surprised!!! killing mages can become fun again!!

oh yeah, someone mentioned storm of vengence will keep any spell casters from casting spells...boy was that right!!! I always thought that spell useless, buts its the 40ft poison effect that makes it so killer!!!

serious fun there, kiddies, until next time from the mind and hand of user...

Regarding the lightning bolts thing, I discovered that you could do the same via the spell lightning bolt (See, it's even in my sig as a constant reminder ;) ).

Have only your sorc/mage go into the gith room with another NPC. Both your characters should have the cloaks of mirroring and reflection respectively. Then cast lightning bolt - the spell should bounce off the two characters and zap the giths. Rinse and repeat for Watcher's Keep.

I once SK'd 6 cloaks of mirroring just to watch the effect of the bolt bouncing harmlessly off all my party members and killing the baddies! Fun to watch!

Instead of storm of vengence, I put silence in chains and arrow-kill mages. Never tried storm myself, will see how it works tonight.

Cheers buddy. :)

yep, it looks so cool when you have a room full of lightning bolts....

agreed, fan about the lightning wand, but unless you use greater acuity, you cant GREATER WHIRLWIND 10 bolts a round!!!

interesting trick, I discovered almost a year ago and posted in cheese guild...

cast greater acuity, timestop if you want, but you can empty a wand in 5-6 rounds, and if you think even a dragon can survive being hit with 50 fireballs, or cone of cold, think again!!! gets rather boring, click hit psace bar, click, hit space bar...zzzzzz....

fun is carpeting a dragon lair, using boots of speed and cloudkill wand in about 50 cloudkills, then racing around, with posion amulet, and wathcing it die...not so cheesy as fog of war cloudkill, but same idea...

Yep, I am way behind time, guys! Should sticky the cheese guild.

Imagine acuity, g whirlwinds and even the beholders drop like flies in the lair! Let's say you install Xyx's improved Beholder AI scripts, same thing happens!

Have not tried lightning stuff with any of the dragons. Heard their prots are up way before then. Cloudkill, well, I prefer your earthquake trick.

The reason why storm stops mages from casting isnt becouse of the poison... a simple save vs spells negates it and most make that with ease as there is no modifier
It does 1d6 of each elemental dmg per round so unless there casting very fast spells under 2 casting speed or something or there 100% immune to ALL elemental dmg they get a wack before they finish the spell
