I'm playing the game again, but this time as a lawful evil character in order to make the game a little different. I don't want to go around killing everyone and everything, but it does seem that I am being pegged into the same quests and doing the same thing.

Are there different quests one is approached with as an evil character? Do you side with Jon or Bodi. Is it difficult to gain experience because you don't want to do the good thing and help people out? How does one play an Evil character?

you do come up a little short on experience playign evil, btu there are soem great alternatives for quests.
i really doubt that there is anyoen out there who doesn't know these quests, but i'll go ahead put a spoiler warning.



the slavers - you can go tell the guy that the slaves are tryign to revolt.
windspear - get the deed from that knight to give to firkaag
druids - destroy the font with the sulfuric acid the guy will give you outside the bar, make sur eyou don't have minsc with you, probably not jaheira either ( i never play her so i wouldn't know)
the man in red - hold the lady for ransom (very beneficial come throne of bhaal)


now remember, being evil doesn;t mean killing everyone, it just means doing everythign for yourself, so sometimes it's okay to lie to get what you want.

Lawful Evil doesnt always mean obeying the law to the letter, it means perverting the law.

A good example of both an evil quest and Lawful Evil behaviour.

Solve the Skinner Murders as one normally would. But kill the Silver Dragon (I forget her name) and made the human leather armor +5. Natrually no Good or even Neutral character would do such a thing. But your evil and broke no laws (though technically your no better then the tanner)


You rarely will get distinct quests when your evil, but nearly all interactions allow you to "act" evil. Dont help people (like the guy who wants to be taken to the Harpers) for no reason, demand payment upfront for good deeds.

BTW Siding with Bodhi I wouldnt consider lawful evil behaviour. Thats Chaotic Evil pretty much.

Lying, killing, stealing, making evil choices in Jonny's hell will pretty much make you evil. Besides siding with Bodhi, you can also poison the druid grove as Nael suggested. Stealing in broad daylight, killing the shop keepers after that and bribing the guards are a few other examples. The experience gained is roughly equivalent to that of being good (as in siding with Bodhi). Being evil does leave a bitter after taste for me though.

The merchant and temple prices are higher if you need to buy something or resurrect someone or get your levels back after being level drained. It's important to check your rep as you go along since you may get carried away with all the evil deeds.

Those arent examples of LAWFUL Evil behaviour (except bribing guards)

Lawful Evil seek to manipulate and pervert, but not break, the law for their own benefit.

There are also evil things to do later on in the game

For example, in Sahuagin City, you could take the Prince's side, then double-cross him and kill him. In the Drow-City, there is a rather large evil quest, although it's much harder, it's a lot more fun. It's so big, I'm not going to explain it here, go to a walkthrough for it.
