hi i played SOA about times now and finished it 5 times.
1.Fighter
2.Assassin
3.Sorcerer
4. Ranger/Cleric (that was very Cool)
5. Asassin/Mage (my own Shadow Mage :D )

i started as a fighter/thief, a bezerker/mage (also very nice but had poblems so i quited), a monk and paladin.

i want to play it again but with something special, i played almost everything, solo and party, what should u advise me??

and it must be original, so a nice char and or party.

thnx

Try picking out the weakest NPCs - anyone you find lousy is in! Then make a weak PC as well - no über stats, choose the worst kit and profiencies...

Or why not use ShadowKeeper to create a Dwarven Druid or a Hafling Paladin? Original enough?

if there is any NPC or romance u havent played, do that. Wild Mage for a change is always nice imo, if u feel like playin sth magic.
What i found very interesting was going with few (1-2 NPC) chars, but not soloing. levels up very fast, and still u can have everything u want (go F/C urself with Nalia, Jan or Immie, go F/T with Aerie or Cernd/Vic+Edwin, thief/mage with Ano, maybe SK thief/wildmage for that...). best with 2 chars 2 classes each imo, as both level at ~same speed then.

What i did, was when i created my character is not to edit the stats )lower you´re inteligence and put extra points in strenght or soemthing like that'
But keep everything as it was.

I did reroll sometimes, and the outcome was quite nice.

Also the party´s I liked best where the once where I took all the NPC´s in that I never had before.
(Amonem, Cernd, valygar)

I found it quite the chalanging party.

Or you could try a multiplayer all mage party.
Or a all fighter party.

The possibilaty's are endless

make a beastmaster and a totemic druid. pick up cernd and haer'dalis. good luck. i'm sure this group will have success but it will take a while to figure out what works. on the flip side, you will get good use out of all those potions, scrolls, and items you find instead of having them pile up in your inventory.

Recent allegations that he "looks gay" notwithstanding, I will continue to shamelessly advocate that players with BG2 fatigue introduce Kelsey into the mix for a breath of fresh air, and the thousands of new lines he adds to the game.

@jcompton: again I say that the pic is very good.

The other mods, tough fun and well done, are lacking of sounds
and/or new pics.
The Solaufein mod has a pic of Drizzt with his SCIMITARS, well, Sola uses FLAILS.....
You see my point.

Really your work is complete and deserves support!

Run a Wild Mage, and take with you only Cernd and Jan. Now, *that's* a challenge.

thnx for the suggestions :D

yesterday i was thinking of a nice char. and looked through the manual
i found out i haven't played a bard.
i think they are very nice.
but on the other hand i think i want to solo with a nice great fightertype, fighting with halberds (i think those are the coolest weapons) but what fighter type is the best??

Why not solo with a Blade wielding a Halberd, then? Although I dont practise the high art of soloing myself (way to fond of the NPCs!), I've understood that the Blade is one of the more popular soloists. And since Bards can use all weapons, why not the Halberd?

Kensai is the best fighter type.
It's rather hard to solo in the beginning, but after a few level up's he's unstopable.
Only to play a kensai is rather boring, and in my opinion he looks stupid without a helmet/armour.

A beserker is to easy to solo i think (just plain damage).

Soloing a barb could be intresting, and bards can use halberts 2.

I finished the game without using potions, it makes the fights more challenging. Only time I used them is when I didn't want to rest, but that are only a few times (and my health wsa waaaaaay down). Continuing a map without rest aor potions is pretty tough. :)

Yeah, perhaps BG should have more player skins, all warriors looks the same, all male mages have beard! It's that boring?

@TheDude
Try playing the whole baldurs gate saga with a real person, a friend you play ad&d with or anyone who's ready for such a long multiplayer session. About what class to choose, just make yourself a kit you'd actually enjoy playing with and have fun :)

I agree, playing multiplayer with a friend is a blast, and adds an entirely new aspect to the game. even better is if you can speak on icq phone or something similar while playing.

i am serieusly thinking of a bard, not sure if it would be a blade or and skald (i would love a little army of buffed up Skeleton Warriors fighting for my while i was singing an heroic song to encurage them :D )

but a bezerker or a kensai would be nice too
