Creating a Class

I'm trying to create my own class just for fun, but I'm having some problems.
1) Teambg has blocked me for some reason and i cannot access the webpage.
2) I have no friggin clue how to do any of this stuff :)

Could someone give me a few rough pointers as to how to do this?

I've always loved the Dragoon class. I have a 3rd edition PnP write up for him, but I'm not too sure how to turn it into a BG kit/class. everything here is based on my personal character, who is part Gold Dragon, so he has to do with the fire element as opposed to any other (acid for green/bronze, air for silver, etc...)

Anyway, here's my class. It is being converted as I type from 3rd edition, so bare with me... I've never played PnP 2nd ed rules, so the THAC0 thing is still sorta strange to me, even after over a year of BG2 :)

Class Name: Dragoon
(I'm actually writing a short story about my Dragoon character, but basically he's an elite warrior with a trace of dragon blood running through his veins, who befriends something akind to a psuedo-dragon) and later pledges his services to a full grown dragon)

Race: Mostly human, but around 5-10% dragon.. Effectively, a lengthened lifespan, heightened senses, infravison and some small draconic physical distinction (i.e. "strange" colored eyes, nothing like scales, teeth or wings)

Uses Fighter Hit Points, THAC0 (Has same to hit bonuses as a normal 3rd ed fighter, so I assume THAC0 would be same ;) )
I'm not sure how to do saves for 2nd ed.. so I won't bother with that. Let's assume fighter or paladin)

Stats:
As for being partly draconic, the Dragoon gains +1 str, +1 con, +1 int (The dragon blood in my character is of a gold dragon..)

May Grand Master in Spears, only allowed to be ** in any other weapon. Starts with one * in Spear and Two Weapon Style.
Cannot use slings, bows or crossbows.
Gains +1 to hit and +1 damage for spears every 4 levels

Level 2 Gains Lay On Hands.
Level 8 May cast Improved Haste once per day. Add one casting per 4 levels.
Level 9 Gains resist fire as an always active ability.
Level 10 Gains ability to cast Sunfire once per day.

Special Item:
Dragon Blessed Ring:
The Dragoon can only get this ring from his patron dragon, and since the way to obtain it doesn't really matter in BG2.. I'll just list the effects.
Only usable by Dragoons (Stupid UAI... that really messes this up, thieves should NOT be able to use a Dragon's gift to a Dragoon!)

Permanent "Luck" when worn
User may cast Flame Arrow Once per day per level
User may cast Fireball once per day per every 4 levels

(Anyone know how to imbue a weapon with elemental damage? One ability my 3rd ed guy has is to have his spear imbued with + fire damage (since he is a golden..) )

Are you certain you're blocked from TeamBG's site? I've noticed some of their pages seem to be having problems lately. Secondly, creating a new kit involves editing the .2DA files. If you want to learn about them and other file types, visit IEDSP - it has a wealth of information. This site will also show you the basic .ITM file formats.

I have been wanting to create my own kit aswell, or rather modify the kensai kit a bit. I wonder, can I do that if I am involved in a multiplayer game? Will the alterations crash our game? We dont have a kensai in our group btw.
The alterations I wanted to make was that kensai could only be human, elf or half-elf. Could only wield swords, daggers and quarterstaffs. And that Grand mastery would work like is supposed to work, only for kensais.
Is it possible to implement?

iF you're planning to use your kit in a multiplayer game you must send the edited kit files to your partners, if the kit is to be used only in single player it wouldn't effect the MP game but just in case don't change the kensai kit, make a new kit and copy the stuff you want from the kensai kit. it IS possible to make the kit available only for human, elf and half elf in order to do so add the kit serial number only to K_F_H.2da K_F_E.2da and K_F_HE.2da (the serial is from kitlist.2da).

You can permit him only to put prof. points into those(swords, daggers...) weapon styles but AFAIK you can only use "useable values" from other kits in kitlist.2da, anyway I dunno how to deal with such values as 0x00000004(kensai usability list) beyond copying them.

How does Grand mastery supposed to work? Hmm... but you can add as many attacks per round and thaco ponuses as you wanna ;)
