Dual a Kensai to mage (again!)

It's been posted before, but must be a very popular matter.
I've dualled my kensai at 12th lev., but I'm wandering if it was a wise choice or if it was better to dual at 9th (I have ToB).
Drawbacks of dualling at 12th lv: I will be struggling as a low lev. mage for quite a long time (1,25 mil exp with a 5 PC party takes quite a long time!); my Kensai-mage will always be two lev. lower that the kensai dualled at 9th (fewer spells).
Pro's: lower Thac0 (-4) normally (reduced to -2 when tenser tr.); few more hit points (6!!); one more prof. points (but in any case you have more than enough to become maste/gran master in two weapon and master in two weapon style).
I'm thinking thet maybe is not all this worthing to dual late (yes at 13th you get 1/2 extra attack, but it will take a looooong time to get your ability back). BTW I like to play with a team and never played solo.
