I think backstab is becomming way to powerfull.
My solo f/t managed to kill the demonnight in Durlag's Tower in 1stab.
And the demon (with the weird name) in Ulgards Beard in 2 stabs.
These should be the most powerfull enemy's in the game.
What's wrong?

The following things influence backstab damage:
what backstab multiplier is your character at?
what Strength does (s)he have?
what item did you use for backstab (dagger of Venom)?
Still, I congratulate you on killing the demon in Ulgoth's Beard in 2 attacks; can't tell how many hit points it normally has. I know I had a lot of trouble killing that one...

Thanks, i was very suprised myself.
I drank an oil of speed and a potion of ......giant strengt and a potion of mirrored eyes.
First i killed all the cultists, and then went up the stairs, hid in shadows and went down. And a good x4 backstab with the staff of striking.
Did it again, and he dropped.
I will post my complete solo story soon.

The Staff of Striking is why you dropped them so quick. It does a base damage of 1d6 + 9, which means a minimum of 10. Add to that your strength bonus and backstab multiplier on a critical hit, and you're talking about dishing out some serious damage. It took me two backstabs to take down the Demon Knight by the way.
This weapon is awesome against Skeleton Warriors, too. Sell it and buy it back like the wands to re-charge it. IIRC, merchants will put 25 charges on it.
