Having played Bg2 alot lately i am growing bored with doing the same things so i am going to put all my effort into finding a way to kill Arkanis, i am sure there is a way to kill him, seeing as how i managed to kill the Empathic manifestation, the avatar, and other supposedly unkillable things.

You may want to search for other threads on this topic, though. Lots of things have been tried.

actually it isn't impossible...he has a belt which prevents him from dropping below 1hp. Use the silver sword and keep being protected from magical weapons, then you might eventually slay him with the swords chance to slay on contact.

You should make an item that grants 100% immunity to everything... And then make a weapon with 100% of killing the target instead of the silverswords 25%

At one time I thought I saw a post on someone killing him....but I could not find it with the search option.

Why not just let the vampires kill him? Oh ok I know, I know, Aran deserves to die...

Yeah, just use the silver sword as I mentioned, it has something like 5% to kill with each strike so eventually you just kill him. However the second your protection from magical weapons goes away you are a dead adventurer. Have like 20 mages continuely casting it on you.

Well i been fighting Arkanis all day trying to duplicate making him disapper earlier (see my other post) but i cant do it. I tried your suggestions with the silver sword with a custom party (thanx shadowkeeper) 5 fighter/mages wielding Vorpal swords with 5+ in 2h swords and 2+ in double hand style but he saves vs/death everytime. I left my Arkanis Swat Team hacking away at him and came back later and he was still there saving vs death. I am going to try again with Black Blades of disaster and see what happens.

Let us make it clear: Arkanis Gath (the one that appears when you try to spoil the storyline) will NOT be killed. He has not only a "MINHP1" belt but he is also immune to everything that could kill him, like death spells, Imprisonment, Petrification, and so on. Vorpal will not help because he always saves vs. death. The MINHP1 belt also works against magical attacks, like Wywern's Tail's poison, etc. I have tested it against Bhaal and the demon in the Asylum dream, which are the same story.
The only thing that may be overlooked by Bioware are weapons with delayed attacks like Jhor the Bleeder. I haven't tested them but I am almost sure that they didn't overlook them, too.
I see the only way of killing Arkanis Gath: edit creature.bif, find all Arkanis Gaths there and remove the MINHP1 belts. Well, if you call this victory...

Can you use triggers of greater malisons on him to lower his saves? I know everyone says he can't be killed, but that's part of the challenge.

I will say this...after trying 25 times to kill him...I gave up...I admit defeat.

I still haven't tried to kill him, I'm just talkin' strategy. All my saved games are just too far away, at the moment, and I never seem to have the hours to waste. Or, rather, I always seem to waste my hours doing other things.

@Rail... Yes I know when I'm beat....this fellow Arkanis and the other one who appears to get Drizzt's equipment have beat the fire out of me so many times.

Well, at least you know you got their attention. That's gotta count for something. Right? RIGHT?!?

I've fared no better. I guess I just haven't wasted as much time trying. That's the only diffrence.
