Muliplayer Romance

how does Romance work when you're playing a single-user multi-player game? I am trying a party of three PCs plus Viconia (for the romance I haven't done before), and I was ondering how the variables apply in a multiplayer game. Which NPCs are the RomanceActive and CharMatch globals attached to? How will Viccy know which one to talk to, and what will happen as a result of me switching leadership from one guy to another after meeting her?
