Max HP & Learning ALL Spells on Level UP?

I thought that I had read somewhere that you can set BGII so it gives you max HP, and that spell casters will learn all spells.

Another weird oddity. When I created characters on my unpatched version, I created many of the same characters with slightly different stats...but they always had Maximum HP. When we started playing as a group, one guy had to create a new character...and the game was freshly patched on everyone's system..and it did the HP as rendom rolls, not Max. Then I tried to create the character I had (Kensai) with the same con score...and I didn't get the max HP this time.

Anyone have any answers?

I believe your thinking of Icewind Dale on the max HP..

To get your spell casters to learn more us potions.(Potion of Genuis)

A cleric needs high wisdom to get all of there spells.

What is your dificulty level set at? The one level below Core Rules will give you max HPs.

Don't know about the auto spell learning, though. Just do as Weasel says and drink those potions of genius. That's what they're there for.

Yes, the only difference between Normal and Core is that you get max HP and you can't fail to learn a new spell. You still have to deal with max nr of spells so the potions might still come in handy.

Thanks for the info. It's something I couldn't find in another thread or in TFM. We actually play almost at the highest setting because all 5 of us created pretty good characters...we don't want it to be too easy Image

We'll just have to knock it down a notch before we level up I guess, if you can do that in the middle of the game.

Thanks again,
