when creating a new character (i.e. ur player)
you have to go throught a number of things
one of which is creating attbutes like strength
when doing so you get numbers normally from 3-18 i was wondering sometimes on strength you 18/89 what is the 89 what does it mean???

The /89 is a percentile of additional strength. It means that you have 89% of 19. The highest bonus is /00 or 100% but 19 is still higher. Using a tome of STR will give you an even 19. Only fighters can have this extra bonus.
Does this make sense?

I always wondered why they had that option,
but if you look in the manuel you'll see that the percantages give you better damge/tac0 and more weigh allowance!
