Seyda Neen Tax Collector Rumor *possible spoilers*

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but when you ask people for rumors or secrets in Seyda Neen, there's a consistent "the tax collector is missing, no one really liked him, blah, blah, blah."

Has anyone gotten any more information on this "quest"? I broke into the tax collector guy's house (the locked one near the census and excise office) but I didn't find anything of interest.

Loose ends bug me, and I'm just curious about this.

Thanks.

The tax collector has been murdered. You can't really start the quest until you stumble across his corpse. Once you report his murder, you can be assigned to track down the murderer.

I can only add that you may want to search around the area outside of town. Don't neglect the small islets. It helps to have the Fire Bite spell when you're attacked by those disgusting fish, too.

Thanks! When I go home (work sucks when all you want to do is play) I'll go tie up this loose end!

Continuation of this 'quest'

Without giving away too much. Is there any more to this quest besides the 2 choices given when you find the killer?

Possible spoiler in black below
You appear to ge tthe tax collector's ring from either choice. Is this ring used anywhere else?

The doohicky that you're referring to can be given to the lady love of the tax collector's, and she will reward you for it, although I think in strict terms the reward she gives is not equal to the value of the whatsit. But I still give it to her because it makes her so happy.

BTW,...

... you just may have a place to rest and keep your stuf for a while after the quest is done (at least one way)

Watch out when you confront the culprit, BTW. He's an unarmed fighter and pretty decent at it, at least when confronting a newbie straight off the boat. If you're not halfway decent with a weapon he'll leave you stunned and dead from fatigue, before he leaves you dead. :D If you've only got a dagger and light armor, be sure to position yourself near the door for a quick exit so you can recover and attack again.

Well,

lucky enough my char. is Breton Witchhunter born in Ritual :D Inherit Dragn Skin, Mara's Gift, Bound Dagger and Ancestral Ghost, you know, they had the job done :)
Are anybody else playing witchunter? IMHO, challenging and interesting class, rogue priest with stress on magic and low rogue skill at the begining, with rich devlopment possibilities and good disrtibution of skills between maj./min./misc.
