Is it possible to get Edwin in your party without having to kill Dynaheir and what happens if you rescue Dynaheir before talking to Edwin in Nashkell. In my opinion Edwin is the best mage in the gane but my character is Lawful good so I do not want to murder anyone thanks.

if you're character is lawfull good, take dynahier, cause Edwin is Evil.
You don't have to kill him, just refuse him in you're party.

And I believe that if you have Dynaheir in you're party, you can take Edwin in as well (he wants to watch her)

But I suggest only Dynaheir

Edwins amulet gives him 2 extra spell per level, I would take Edwin and kill Dynaheir, if I were evil.

As Stilgar mentioned you can get both of them, but I believe that they fight eachother after a while (nothing you can do about it but pick sides)

Is that true?
Are there NPC's that don't get along in Baldur's Gate I?????

I've only read about the Dynaheir/Edwin thing (Never had them in the same group), but I do know that Khalid/Jaheira and Montaron/Xzar do battle after a period of time. NPC's do exchange insults or compliments....but not to the extent of BG2

For the role-playing part you should take dynahair! But as said Edwin is both better and more funny :D But, in BG2 you will meet Edwin, but you wont meet Dynahair (she's dead). So if you are planning on taking your character to BG2 after finishing BG1, it could be of some interest that you learned a little about Edwin first.....

P.S. I would take Edwin...... :p

Oh, NPC's dosn't starts fighting in BG1, it's in BG2 ;) !!!

Not sure about the exact time. Just keep the two couples together for some time and they will find out they belong to the Harpers and the Zentharims respectively. Jaheira and Khalid usually win the following fight.

It varies I guess.....Monty and Xzar riled the Harpers up about 20 days after I got them.....but that only happened once....anyways, back to the original discussion.....i agree that it depends on alignment.

Personally i would have said Dynahier is the more appropriate choice, the only problem is that one becomes lumbered with Minsc; not very good in my opinon.

Once you have obtained the Ring of Wizadry she is extremely useful as a long ranged attacker :)

Did someone in here say Edwins a good mage? Ha! i don't think anyone was a good Mage in BG cause the spell lv only goes up to four or something. And Edwin in BGII sucks just as much

If you don't know what you're talking about, why do you insist on doing it?

Then please name a better mage.
Even you're PC-mages don't get as many spells as Edwin!!!!
