I've made a game completely based on cheating. And there is no need to tell me how cheap it is (I've already heard). But I'm having a problem with the SetCurrentXp cheat. I type in the max amount of 2950000. All of my characters get this. No problem so far.

Now here's my problem: I can't gain anymore experience. I summoned beholder after beholder to get experience, and I couldn't! Its driving me crazy! I want to raise my characters a couple more levels, but without experience....

Just use shadowkeeper :)

If you don't have it, the link can be found in one of the sticky threads at the top of the forum page.

Buy Throne of Bhaal. Then you can get up to 8000000 xp, and get all those neat abilities to boot.

Throne of Bhaal? I'll think abotu it. But for now, i still have a problem.

I got Shadow Keeper. Where it says each character's XP, it says something like 3023885, or around there. However, in the game my XP still reads 2950000. I'm not raising any levels.

Is the SetCurrentXP cheat always like this? Is there any other solution?

Thanks again for the replies.

The reason why your XP only shows 2,950,000, is that this is the cap for Shadows of Amn - you will not be able to get any higher - unless you download a XP Cap Remover patch. There is nothing wrong with the SetCurrentXP cheat or Shadow Keeper.

That was my first thought. But, in the official BG2 manual (that comes with the game) the "Tables" section shows Paladins, mages, and fighters being able to go level 20. My Paladin and Mage are at level 17, and my fighter 19.

????? My mage doesn't even have 9th level spells yet. (I went through all the trouble of cheating to get level 9 spell scrolls, too)

The Manual shows in a table that a mage requires 3,750,000 XP to get to level 20. But if you can only get 2,950,000, how are you supposed to get them to that level?

Sorry if my confusion is as frustrating to you as it is to me.

Well, simply put, you don't get to level 20 in a normal game - with Warriors and Mages. I have no idea why the left the tables to go all the way to level 20, maybe they couldn't be bothered removing the last few rows.

If you really want to get to the higher levels - download the XP Cap Remover, you can get one on my site, link's in my signature. Be warned that you'll miss out on some of the ToB features for the character that's above the SoA XP Cap - if you're planning to continue with that character in ToB.

There is a way around it though. Just get the extra XP, but don't lvl up until installing ToB.
