Help with Alteration magic!

I took the advice of a few members on the board, and decided to raise Alteration (so that my Int would go up quickly, it's one of my misc. skills.) So anyway, I made myself a cheap "bound boots" spell and proceeded to cast it for 3 days game time (going up 12 points in Alteration.) However, now my character's speed is over 2000! The movement is really choppy and annoying, there's no fine control and I keep falling off stuff and hurting myself.

So my question is: is there any way to bring my stats back to normal? I spent like an hour mind-numbingly clicking cast"bound boots" and I would rather not have to start over...

1. there is a bug with bound item bonuses (particularly the boots) never going away. hopefully it will get fixed soon. there is a console command for forcing your stats to a certain number so you could reduce your speed back to where it should be and dont have to start the game over. sorry dont know console commands but ive seen it posted on the main morrowind board.
2. bound item spells are conjuration not alteration. if you want to practice alteration cast water breathing, water walking, or low level shield

Definitely a bug: the speed effect (like the fortify armor effect on the Bound Helmet spell) is supposed to cease when the spell wears off. You might try loading the mods that increase walking and running speed, because they use set values. In your case, they'd almost certainly *reduce* speed drastically.

just an hour??? hahahaha you have no idea how many hours I have spent raising the various magiks on 6 different characters :) BTW to avoid this in the future, always put at least 1 point to magnitude and duration.

Thank you for the quick replies. I managed to get on the official message board (over 230 000 posts!) and picked up the console command. It is:

Step 1
While in game press "~" (Tilde) Key to open the Console.

Step 2
To use the commands below start with player->.
For example:

player->AddItem "Gold_100" 12345
will add 12345 of gold to player.

player->SetHealth 9999
will add 9999 health to player so on.

in this case (for my speed problem)
player->SetSpeed 54

If you want to raise INT and not have to worry about the console commands you can also create a spell that brings a ghost for a sec. Actually, I may make one for like 10 secs so I can get a few swings at it and maybe a connect or 2 before it disappears
