Hey,
whenever I try to get to Trademeet, It saves my game, loads about 1/3 of the way, and then just exits the program with an error sound going off but no error screen coming up. What is going on?
Does anyone know how to fix this, or at least get around it?
FYI... I do have Throne of Bhall installed if it makes a difference.
THank you..

I really doubt this would have any effect, but have you tried using the cheat to simply teleport to Trademeet? If your getting desparate, anything is worth a try.
The code to teleport is:
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("<location number>")
Trademeet location number:
AR2000
You will need cheats enabled to be able to do this. If you need more info on how to do it go to this site:

I had this problem in BG 1 in the Sirine area and had to re-install. The disc I was using was scratched and I didn't do a full install it resulted in a run-time error. I would try deleting saved games until you find a corrupt one as mentioned above.

hey,
thanks for the help... but I am about the most computer illiterate person in the world. Just let me double-check to make sure I understand what to do before I do anything. Basically, you're saying that I should either:
-Delete my saved games untill I find the corrupt one (how do I know when I have found the corrupt one??)
-Download the patches (I already have the patch that fixes the "<person> appears busy and cannot talk")
-Cheat somehow. I looked at that site and I don't really understand it...
-Reinstall
I am fairly far and would hate to have to replay everything I have just done, so is there any way to save one of my saved games, reinstall, and then continue to play that saved game? thank you very much

I had the saem problem a coupla times, and I remember that when I was installing I got a cache 150.txt error message, so maybe that's got somethig to do with it.
If you wanna reinstall and keep your saves, just use Windows Commander or Explorer to open your Black Isle directory until you find a folder called Save. Just copy that somewhere safe and copy it back after the reinstall.
Frustrating, aint it? Good luck...

hey,
there are more problems....
I copied the 'save' folder as suggested and placed it on my desktop. I then uninstalled Throne of Bhall without any trouble.
THEN....
I attempted to uninstall Shadows of Amn. To my dismay, all that happened was a screen coming up asking me if I was sure I wanted to uninstall the selected components. I clicked "ok". The screen just went away with nothing uninstalled. I tried this numerous times with no success.
Then, I went to my computer >> add/remove programs >> remove Shadows of Amn and the same thing occured. It would not remove.
Then, in a last ditch effort, I manually deleted everything myself including the black isle folder and everything.
STILL...
when I put in the CD the screen comes up asking me if I want to play not if I want to install. If I click "play," nothing happens. If I go to explore the CD with windows explorer, and double click on the install file, all I get is a message asking me if I want to remove the selected components. Again, I click "yes" and again, nothing happens.
Please help me...
thanks

Ah, that's a problem I had too. In the end I got so pissed off with it that I totally wiped my hard disk and started from scratch. That's a pretty drastic measure though, and you don't wanna try it if you're not sure what you're doing.
Have a look at this page, posted by the lovely Rachel who is there to sort out problems like these:
http://feedback.blackisle.com/forums/sh ... adid=27680
There's infor about editing the windows registry when doing a manual uninstall. Deleting the B.I folder isn't enough, I'm afraid. It looks pretty complicated, but don't worry and give it a try.
I know someone else has asked this, but have you tried downloading and installing the patch? It fixes a few problems.
I'm no computer expert, but if you have any probs with the manual unistall as described by Rachel, let me know and I'll do my best. I know how it feels when you really wanna go somewhere and beat on some nasties and just just can't!!

Check out this quote from Alvin from a couple of months ago too:
"What I did was :
I uninstalled BGII.
Went through the registry (regedit)
and used keywords like BGII, Baldur, Bio, SOA, TOB, Throne etc.
Deleted everything BG related.
Then I used that help thread Sojourner posted (How to manually uninstall BGII) wich lead to 2 folders:
{B8C3B479-1716-11D5-968A-0050BA84F5F7} a registry folder and {8DAE4336-2B71-11D4-9A6C-006067325E47} wich was found in the hidden directory "InstallShield Installation Information" .
I deleted those and Installed everything again.
Works like a charm now "
I only joined the board yesterday so I'm a total newbie here...(been playing BG for a year or so tho

hey,
bad news everyone... or mainly just for me...
I manually uninstalled the entire game as instructed. Upon reloading it, I got maybe two occurances of "cannot find area ARxxxx on CDx, or it does not match the file in the blah blah blah"
It is probably bad that I cannot remember the entire sentence, but, I didn't write it down. More importantly, I imported my saved folder and still cannot get into Trademeet. From what I am guessing, this error is related to the error I got while installing it.
(just for your info, I also got several errors with the exact same message except they were not talking about an area, but instead about a 'charanim' or something, I am assuming it means character animation. I have not noticed anything wrong with the animation in the game...)
I installed the newest updates.
Is there any way that I can fix this without buying an entire new copy of the game?
thanks

Have you tried a full install? It takes up about 2.6 GB, but it would solve most problems concerning files on the CDs, since they're all on the hard drive.

i don't think that re-installing would help.
in my opinion, one of th CD's must be scratched.
the CD-rom just can't read the CD.
i think...
