Hi, my party consist of a level 37 wizard slayer, minsc, keldorn, saravok, imoen, arie. Minsc is 33, keldorn 32, saravok 32, imoen 27, arie mage 19, cleric 24.

After I did all the pocket plane quest, its finally time to face melisan. But then when I went inside the throne of bhaal, I meet Irenicus and Bodhi, and they summon in a evil planeter, and they turn imoen into a Slayer, and imoen start attacking the party.

I have a difficult time espeically with imoen out of the party, and also when irenicus casts time stop, he cast all sorts of hell at me *improve alacrity, abdam weltz, comet..and when he ran out of spells, he can actually do Kong Fu kicks, which acts like a Fighter's special attack smite..which kicks me back like 20 feet and stunning me.

Any battle advise from all ya battle mages out there would be appreciated.

First Andone, it doesn't bother me (as I've beaten ToB) but be careful putting plot spoilers in your subject lines...

It sounds like you have Ascension installed, and as several other posters here can attest to, it is *hard*. If you don't have Ascension installed, you can ignore some of my advice as it may not apply...

Aerie may be your saving grace, if she has access to level 9 spells (don't remember if level 19 mage is high enough). Remember, if she can cast Improved Alacrity, it applies to both Arcane *and* Divine spells. Turn Irenicus' tactics against him: Improved Alacrity + Time Stop, then Summon a Deva or Planetar of your own, a couple Elementals, a Simulacrum (might want to throw up a Spell Immunity: Divination first to prevent it from being dispelled) and then load Spell Triggers and Chain Contingencies with Pierce Shield and Horrid Wilting spells. After the Pierce Shields, unleash all the Hell you've got at him (Try putting Skull Traps in your Sequencer and launching them all at once).

Have your tanks (Minsc and Sarevok) keep Imoen busy, if you want a break and can lower her magic resistance a quick Maze spell will give you some breathing room to start. Alternatively, have Aerie cast Protection from Magical Weapons on herself and let Imoen wail away at her ineffectively for four rounds. Your Wizard Slayer should be able to hamper Irenicus enough early on to stop him from casting Time Stop, especially if you combine Time Stop with Improved Alacrity on your own. Barring that, throw Sarevok at Irenicus and have everyone else back away, leaving him as a sacrificial lamb to Irenicus' first onslaught. Keldorn and an upgraded Carsomyr should be quite effective at dealing damage to Bodhi.

There are cheesier tactics (loading Project Images into Chain Contingency, having Simulacrums casting Project Image, then having all of your images launch multi-death spells everywhere) but I'd avoid those until your patience has truly run out.

Littiz (also on these boards, working on the final Ascension battles now) has beaten this battle and might have better strategies...

Depending on your alignment and reputation, it's possible to have Balthazar join you for the final battles in Ascension, and he is immune to Time Stop! If you're willing to part with one of your current party members, it's something to consider.

I'm usually reluctant to help with strategies 'cause they're too
tied with the peculiarities of each party/player...
But, let's see, though Catalyst has already said everything!
You have Ascension of course...
First of all, I advise you, if you find that battle hard
(which, to a large extent, truly is), you'll find the LAST one
a real IMPOSSIBLE MISSION!!!
(I've explained -in the "Victory is mine" thread- how I won it, but
I fear that strategy is STRONGLY suited for my particular party..)

Back to the actual problem!
Imoen eventually will turn human again. Wait and do not hit her!
Put your best fighter against Bodhi, assuming he's protected
from level drain, somehow (weapons or spells)
The real problem is Irenicus. He uses one of the best mage strategy,
he casts Spell Immunity: Abjuration and Divination, so you CAN'T
dispel his spell with remove magic, nor his illusions with True
Sight.
You have to take down those Spell Immunity, first, BUT, if he's
invisible, you cannot target him with Ruby Ray, or other spell
removing spells.
So the best thing to do is hitting him FAST!!
Give the Robe of Vecna to Aerie, if Immie wears it, for this battle,
so Aerie can cast Breach AT ONCE.
I think you may have the time to remove his basics melee protections
before he starts it all, and then whack him with every available
party member, possibly with weapons that inflict elemental damage,
in case he throws up some stoneskin.
If you kill him fast, you should be able to handle the remaining foes
easily!
I seem to remember I did something like this...
No, maybe I stopped time faster than him, so he was still "targettable"
by my spells.
Aerie's 19, should be able to cast Time Stop.. with Vecna...

EDIT: actually, your Time Stop can be very useful.
The game engine doesn't really stop the time, it only freezes the other people.
So with Time Stop you can shorten the time to have Imoen back with you!

Don't be afraid to use up spells and innate abilities. I think I took so long to win this battle because I was "holding my fire", afraid that I would have to face multiple battles in sequence without resting.
Wrong. After you deal with Irenicus you will only fight some demons before the energies of the pool restore your spells. True, the demons are not easy (a Balor, succubus, and more), but I was very sad when I clicked on the pool with 12 Greater Whirlwinds still left on Korgan and saw that I could have spent them with impunity.
On Irenicus:
Have someone with the Runehammer rush to Bhodi. She dies in one hit. (In my case, Korgan)
Ring of the Ram the Solar. He will not be blown backwards, but it will focus his attention on the Ramming character, shifting from your mages (which he seems to target first). Them have this character (better if it is a fighter-type. I used Jaheira) tank the solar.
I didn't had Imoen with me on Ascension, so I had to kill her. A couple of Greater Whirlwinds from a good fighter (my PC F/T did it) will do the job.
Throw A LOT of skull traps in the general vicinity of Irenicus (and his Simulacrum) It won't kill them but WILL prevent his Time Stop.
Gather over Irenicus with your fighters and finish the job. Any idle characters should be healing, summoning or buffing your party

Well, I've just wasted Irenicus and his crew...keldorn went down in this battle though. I was rather surprised when I click on the pool the Tanarri crews came out. I lost that one...maybe I wont kill Imoen's Slayer avater and see what happens..cuz I really need imoen with me.
