Freezing Problem

I tried Gruntboy's suggestions in the above sticky, but I seem to be unable to prevent the game from freezing when I return to Easthaven after waxing Popquelin in his cave. I'm running version 1.06 of the game, so acquiring the patch is not necessary. I have Windows XP, which could very well be the problem. Anyone else encounter this? If so, were you able to fix it?

Ok, what you need to do is:

Create a new folder in your IWD directory and call it something like Override2.
Copy all of the files from the original Override folder into Override2.
Delete all the files in your original Override folder.
On arrival at Easthaven, save and exit the game.
Copy all the files from Override2 back into your original Override folder and delete Override2.

Good luck! :)

<<edit>> if you confirm here that this has worked - Gruntboy may wish to include it in his sticky. It worked for me :)

I am pleased to report that your method worked. I hope Gruntboy will add this to his list! Thanks for your help. It was rather disappointing being stopped short of the ending.

Glad it worked, Chanak - thanks Ysh, request added to thread. :)

How did youever figure that one out? Your wisdom astounds me (hope Minerva doesn't see that :D ).

You are welcome! I am glad it worked :) and it is frustrating. This happened to me, when I arrived at Easthaven, my characters stood around bored and complaining whilst my controls were greyed out. :) then did nothing to fight the cyclops!

@Gruntboy - it might be worth posting this in your sticky, since it is not an unusual bug :) LOL! :D you beat me to it!

FYI when I had this problem, I was not a member of GB (a great source of advice ;) ) so wrote to Interplay - that was their advice :)

 My wisdom tells me this is not a place to spam, so I won't... Unfortunately. :p :D

Actually, in the sticky request thread (thank you for making it sticky, by the way), I recalled there's another thread you created for "protecting spell casters" or something like that. AFAIK, it was helpful, too. ;)
