I have just attained slayer ability for my main character .. It was so scary when this creature I turned into started attacking my own team .. YUCK!! I really got goose-bumps.
I am afraid to use that abilty for some reason .. will it harm me and my group dynamics in the long run .. I have Anomen, Mazzy, Jaheira, Nalia, Keldorn .. and am heading for the Sahuagin quest.
Also does this slayer thing attack it's own team?

I really hate having lost my heal etc abilities.

Also once I emerge from Spell hold Anomen perpetually has this spell protection glowing circle under his feet now?
What's that?
The last SpellHold round I played .. main character had got that?
Any ideas?

The only party effect that changing to the slayer has is a loss of reputation, and as the player doesn't have full control of this form it can and often does attack the nearset creature, friend or foe.

The glowing circle you've picked up is due to the cloak recovered during the trials. If I remember correctly it's the cloak of reflection.

SPOILER concerning Slayer stats - highlight the following:
If you change into the Slayer, you'll lose 2 points of Reputation each time, as Mr Flibble already stated. If you remain in Slayer form, you'll get a message like "you feel your control slipping" and will take damage. However, at any given time, you can click the special abilities button (star button) and change back into normal form. The Slayer change can sometimes come in handy, as it grants 25 in Strength, Dexterity and Constitution, IIRC and the Slayer has some magic resistance.

the slayer form is really only good for few purpose...

keeping all the mind control circlets in underdark flayre lair, they are so useful...dire charm anything without save...

those doors in underdark flayre lair can be opend by you if you turn slayer...

you can also use loss of rep to keep evil party members...

immune to imprison,so id you no have spell immunity or prot from undead scrolls...
