Defender +5 question

Can the defender +5 hit Kangaxx???
It has +3 to tac0 with means it can't hit,
but it's called +5 with means that it can hit.......

The Defender +5 can't hit Kangaxx it considered a +3 weapon and the other +2 is a bonus to the armor class.

weird that a armour class bonus counts as a + to weapon.
This dousn't count for some of the ToB weapons that give AC bonusses to.

Actually, the Defender +5 will hit Kangaxx. It is considered as +5 enchantment, since Kangaxx only need +4 to hit, you can hit him with the Defender. Bonus to THAC0/Damage doesn't always equal to enchantment level.
