What is the the highest level spell I can expect from the book? I have seen wyvern call lvl 6 and true sight lvl 5 and am just trying to decide if this is as good as it gets.

After about 10 min. of changing spells, I've decided Call Wyvern is the best.

Magus, mighty conjurer, and summoner of hordes of...magical flying swords
----And yes, I am magusg, but I got tired of looking at that silly "pick an alternate name" name

Are the spells you get and the order of them random?

I think so, I got the "fireball" spell 3 times before getting "True Sight"

At one time Buck asked if anyone had a breakdown on the spells available. It's in one of the threads.

I like having true seeing in there. The book can be given to anyone for use, so it's nice having a fighter, cleric, or thief able to cast this and mess up a mage or lich's plans rather than wasting a spell from one of your mages.

Spell Turning Lvl7 is very neat, for it's the only way for a non-spellcaster to get a real Spellprotection (although the 'Cloak of Mirroring' will grant protection from direct damage spells).

Where in the game can I find the book? I haven't seem to come across it yet and would love to know where to look for it.

Save your game before you start turning the pages... It took me 4 or 5 reloads to get the spell I was looking for.

I can't try it anymore.
I did it three times (saving, reloading) and all I ever got was Fireball.
So I moved the book into my "floor" items area, dropped it on the floor, backed my party out of the room then cast two fireballs at the book, left the area and never looked back.
