Purchasing NWN

If everybody here buys NWN at Chips and Bits (via a Gamebanshee link), we would seriously help out Buck. :)

My question is, what is the difference between a copy from Chips and Bits and one from a store?
Is there a different version needed for different languages of windows or something like that? Or any other issues that I need to be aware of?

Nope, no difference, just you've got to buy it from the US instead. I would buy from them, but shipping costs near enough $60 to the UK, though I will donate some money to Gamebanshee when I get paid in 5 days.

Exactly my problem. I'd love to buy it from there, but shipping, shipping!

I don't know how this will work or not but we europeans could place a large order (5-6 copies) of NWN together from C&B, if this is possible we could get the game earlier, i don't see that the game will be released the same time in eupore, and help GB as well. However the person that places the order should have to send the game to the addresses of the others which i know it's not too costly to do that through simple air mail. Thoughts or opinions?

Sounds good :)
Anybody volunteering to do the order and send stuff?
*tries not to draw attention towards herself*

NwN is released at exactly the same time everywhere to avoid piracy, that idea might work... :)

Really ?? well still amazon.co.uk has the release later than Chips and Bits and amazon.com,so i figured (again) a delayed release in europe.

Anyway i'll be willing to place the order as long as i will be in greece at the time or release i don't know yet if they ship in cyprus too. And since we are a few here that are interested, i'll email C&B and check how the shipping work if the game is send as "gift" to several locations.

Not to sound like a complete fool but...

Wouldn't this message/ thread be better in the NWN forum.

It would get a lot more attention, and hopefully some US gamers would order it via the link :)

I am willing to volunteer too. All Europeans buy the game together!

@Rob-hin. We could have the same ship-address I think. Save money and it's no problem to pick it up from each other's home.

You know, I just thought. You remember how Baldurs Gate and that were localised? They were North-American releases and European, do you think this could be the same?

@Nippy i don't think so, Infogrames has an office to Eupore too and seeing the boxes for Eupore and US look the same. Morrowind on the other hand has a different version for US and Europe, in fact the publisher in eupore is no other than Ubi soft.

Anyway during E3 Infogrames revealed that the game is due to be released on 18th june. I suppose Nippy was right, now amazon.com has the release date on 18th nad amazon.co.uk on 21th june.

I'll buy it in the shop.
I'm sick and tired of those dumb online shops or actions "for US residents only" Or you pay a lott of money for shipment, no thanks. I hoped to help out Buck but I'm not buying at those stupid sites.

Before anybody gets too happy about any specific release date, you should know this: I bought the pre-order Beta Tools box at Best Buy (can't get it to work yet), and the box says the release date is June 20th, but Infograme's site has a release date of "27.6.2001." I don't think even they know when it'll be out.

**grr**

Mine will come the 4 Juli at best, so with the sending, it'll be around 7 Juli when I get it ... :(

Ordered it through a retailer in Germany. ('cos we don't really have any reliable retailers I know of in Luxembourg. :rolleye :)

At least it'll be in English.

Well, I could have ordered the US version as that apparently would come earlier, but that would only raise the cost. *sigh*
