how do you start a romance?

i cant find out how to start a romance....
You must be patient - there is no way to "start" one as far as things you can proactively do. You must have the romanceable (is that a word?) character in your party and in some cases you must be the right race. For instance Viconia will not romance an elf protagonist.
Through the course of your travels NPCs will begin conversations with you and depending on your answers the romance will either move forward or grind to a screeching halt.
