Does Tob address....(possible spoiler)

I have finished shadows of Amn and Tob. Most questions were answered, but I want to make sure that I'm getting this right. The ending in shadows of Amn with the people in hoods sitting around in a round table saying the child of bhaal is doomed, are they suppose to be the five that you meet in Tob? If so I would understand why they don't look much like those people in Tob (except for maybe balthezar) since they creators of the Tob may not have been certain of what charactors they were going to incorporate in Tob when they made the ending for SoA. Certainly they were all male voices and none look like Yaga-Shura.
What are other people's thoughts about this?

since they refer to you as the child of Bhaal- I guess I figured they weren't. I thought maybe they are priests who worked for Mellisan.

I'm confused about the whole Balthazar-twisted rune connection. We find out he was financing the rune-mage's guild and we know the rune is connected to the slave trade in Amn. So is Balthazar, who claims he meant well, involved in the slave trade?

From what I remember balthezar was a guy who was focused on eliminating all bhaalspawn. It seem to me that he would be subtle when necessary, but would not hesitate to play dirty when necessary in order to get the job done. It would not surprise me if he got involve with slavery in order to finance his mercenery army. When I first confronted him with my party I think he said he was sorry that he got involved with the mercenery business, what else would he have done? Perhaps train his own army off monks to take over?

The official answer on the black isle board for the guys at the talbe was: "bad guys"

So I dont think you should put too much in it :D

I think it was a hook/warning that the Bhaalspawn story arc wasn't over at the end of Shadows of Amn. Remember that the official announcement for Throne of Bhaal didn't come until several months until after Baldur's Gate II was released, so I think they were just letting us know that there would be a third part to the story, and that Bioware didn't know if it would be in the form of an expansion or a third independent product.

I havent played ToB yet, but my guess would be that they are/were supposed to be "The Watchers"... hence "The Watcher's Keep"

ofcourse im wrong, but thats just a guess :D

The "Watchers" in Watcher's Keep refer to the god Helm, He of the Unsleeping Eye and Lord of Guardians & Protectors. Watcher's Keep is a great dungeon but really has no connection to the SoA or ToB storyline, kind of like Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster really don't have anything to do with the Crenshinibon story arc in Icewind Dale.

The first time I finished Shadows of Amn, I thought that the people sitting at the table were Bhaal's high priests or some renegade faction bent on destroying Cyric and bringing Bhaal back (not far off the mark as things turned out).
