Frustrated - Falura "wife" quest

OK - frustration time...

I am doing the "get a wife for the ashlander" quest (main quest line). I have purchased the correct stuff, and purchased the slave.

Now I can't get the slave out of her cage. She starts walking/running to follow me, but nothing I do will open the door to let her out...

This looks lile one of those bugs where the NPC is on the other side of a door, so the door won't open.

Anyone else had this problem - and any solutions?

Thanks!

You can try typing fixme in the console and see if it'll warp you to the other side of the door. Now, from that point I don't know what to tell you but give that a try and see what you come up with :D

the slave master chick gave you a key dude, walk up the the cage and move around till you see "locked cage" pop up in a box, then simply use your use key.

I *know* I had a slave key, dude - I used it. The cage clicked and said "unlocked" but still didn't open.

This is a bug, not a failure to use the key. The door simply wouldn't open.

In several cases in the game, I have been unable to open doors because NPCs are stationed in positions blocking the door. In the past, I have been able to nuke them with fireballs (which works through doors) so it was no problem. I couldn't do that here.

I did "solve" the problem, though. When I reloaded my saved game, the door popped open the instant the game loaded (in other words, I didn't have to do anything - the reload simply fixed the problem - strange...)
