Ok, so, i got this idea to start a solo-shapeshifter, but the werewolf has a bad thac0, so i checked up the spells.. but for my disappointment, the Holy Power and Champion's Strenght are Cleric-spells, which lowers thac0.

Now i'm asking you, good folks, for ideas?

To solo a shapeshifter, that'll be a hard task untill he reaces level 14.......
Good luck!

You mean the 13lvl ability, Greater werewolf? I don't think it's so hard to reach that.

But i really need those advices!

Sojourner, what are you doing? :(

Be patient, she's never let us down before.
Don't forget to post in the Thanks Sabre & Sojourner thread after she's done. :)

My advice to you would be to remember that you are no fighter... you are a druid. Summons are your friends, use them. Have you got ToB installed?
Someone soloed a shapeshifter without items... it was Kovi I think. Read his posts for more ideas.

Without items??????????
Don't think you would make it through irrenicus's dungeon alive!!!
But I have to admit, that's another chalange, without items.
The only problem is, do wands and potions count as items???
My gues would be that a monk has the biggest change to survive then.. or maybe a sorc!

There seems to be a bug with the greater werewolf form if you have ToB so might want to get that fixed. Don't know if there is a fix cause i changed it myself. They upgraded the greater werewolf but forgot to change their paws IMO.
Wait and see what Sojourner thinks.

I've finished making the changes, and ended up changing more than anticipated.

@Zammi -

Do you have SoA, or ToB?

@Bruce Lee - The icons available are rather limited - I've been thinking about using the Greater wolfwere paws, instead, but right now have left the paws unchanged.

Looking through shadowkeeper's creature list I found two greater werewolfs. The overriden one had paws enchanted to hit +3 doing 2d8 damage.
The original one had paws enchanted to hit +2 and doing 1d12 damage. Now the overriden one has the better AC that the ToB shapeshifter form has so I asume this is what it was meant to be like. However the paws are still the original ones.
It is easy to change with Infinty engine however.

However, these paws are not the ones equipped by the Shapeshifter when he polymorphs into werewolf and greater werewolf forms. The game actually had both forms equipping the paws from the Brown Bear. Check out SPCL643.spl and SPCL644.spl.

Sorry, I didn't read your previous post. :o

The following attachment contains my polymorph fix for ToB. Among other things, it does the following:

1) Shapeshifter kit
  1. Tweaks the Werewolf and Greater Werewolf attacks so they can hit something
  2. Greater Werewolf is now immune to normal weapons
  3. Shapeshifter may no longer initiate dialog when polymorphed
2) Avenger kit
  1. Fixed the creature definition of the Fire Salamander - it now has 100% fire resistance
  2. Spider is now immune to web like all other spiders (since the mage's spider polymorph uses the same attack, it will also benefit)
  3. Wyvern is now immune to entangle/grease/web like all other wyverns
3) General
  1. Cleaned up the polymorph spells to remove some inconsistencies and integrate the changes to the Shapeshifter kit
  2. Corrected the attack definition of the quest-level elemental transformations
As always, back up your override directory before installing the fix. Read the Readme contained within for more details. This fix does not alter the dialog.tlk file and should work with most mods, providing the mods themselves don't change the files altered by the fix.

Okay but is that a bug? Or is it meant to be like that?

Regarding the paws, you mean? The polymorph spells are meant to work that way, since items in the creature definitions are pretty much ignored, when you polymorph. Looking at how the whole polymorph things works, I can see that the game designers did a lot of cutting and pasting when they made these kits, but forgot to do some editing in the process.

Note: The Shapeshifter's werewolf and greater werewolf forms benefit from putting *'s into single-weapon style proficiency.
