Hi, Just started playing BGII and have aquestion about Multi Classing.

I Choose a Fighter/mage/thief combo. He has 18 con but on leveling up only gains 4 HP.
How are the Con bonuses applied to multi class?
The game options are set to max hit dice roll, so according to the book, before Con bonuses I should be getting (10+6+4)/3 HP per level....
Is there a table out there that shows the gains for Multi's??
Any help would be appreciated.

I think you will find that you get your class HP bonus +con/3 Rounding down ,each time you go up a level in a particular class.

After you reach level 9 or 10 you don't get a bonus for your con. It has something to do with the rules of AD&D , I believe.

constitution bonus only applies to the hp rolls. you dont get anymore hp rolls after you reach a certain lvl:
warriors-lvl 9
mages-lvl 10
priests-lvl 9
rogues-lvl 10

from then on every time you lvl up you only gain a set amount of hp:
warriors- 3hp
mages- 1hp
priests- 2hp
rogues- 2hp

btw all this stuff is in the manual if you look for it.

??? I Just started playing... I only get 4 HP gains going from Lev 6 to lev 7 for each of the classes... According to what I found in the forums, multi's gain the average of their classes, in this case 10 + 6 +4 = 6 per lev before Con bonus...

I never playeded D&D before, and the manual doesn't list HP tables for multi's.
Strange..

Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert on this , but I believe it is based on your roll of the dice. If I'm right it will vary high to low and be based on the lowest of the three. Which should be the mage ..I believe.

The multiclass H.P. are determined as follows: Class leveled up in normal increase in H.P. (i.e.) 2nd to 3rd fighter = 1d10 +Constitution (say 8 + 5 {Half Orc/Dwarf con 19}) divided by number of multi classes (2 or 3 so 13/2 = 6.5 {2 not 3 for a half Orc/Dwarf}) ROUND DOWN therefore 6. Never less than one (even if rounding down would do so {high mage level increase with 2 or 3 times multi}). This is applied on every level increase. - Curdis
