Why Amn is Canada

Alright this is a bit absurd, and is mostly for those canadian players out there. Our communist backwater ways prevail in Amn. I have found conclusive evidence of this. Add if you want...

1)In the promenade within one of the animal cages are a Moose and a Squirel. Obviously Rockie and Bullwinkle have been trapped by the Martin Shortesq Quayle and brought to Athkatla.

2)Sheer volume of Moose.

3)a)Athkatla is the finacial meca of Amn and is thus representative of Toronto. Note High crime rate and immense poverty. Everyone thinks it is the capital anyway.
b)Umar hills is a backwater frigid-forestenclosed-conservative small town much like my native Ottawa. Nothing happens in Umar, just as nothing happens in Ottawa. The umar temple is therefor hull.
c)Trademeet with it's artistict desings and commerce, not mention the no doubt exorbatent rental cost represents Vancouver.
d)Brynnlaw with it's ocean born economy and fortress like nature is Halifax.
c)Montreal is the elven city. The elven city isn't really part of Amn. Point and case.
The five largest cities of Canada are represented in these five Amnish locals.

4)The Amnish legonaries, and other soldiers wear red and white.

5) The shadow druids represent the Green Party.... ah glourious multi-party system

6) Sheer quantity of natural expanse and emmense sums of greenary.

I am sure there are more. :)

ROFL ! :D
Does that make Calgary Ust Natha? :D
Though I can't quite see the Canadian Alliance party (or whatever they call themselves these days) partaking of the lust chambers! :D :p

Hmm... Ust Natha seems to fit. Remeber Drow are all about superiority as a race... I think that would explain the Political connection.

In fairness I would lump the Underdark and the Praries together. The Druegar and the Drow are representative of two sides of a coin. The hard working Druegar and there odly open minded attitude and desire for uninvolvement versus the racist and indulgent Drow. The Beholders, Mind-Flayers and Kua-toa are like small minority groups for whose removal the Drow hire the PC's as unintentional commiters of genocide. Note also the Calgary Stampede, the Calgary Olympics and the Manitoba Fringe Festival as possible links to the Drow games.

Bioware was founded by 4 physicians in Alberta, who enjoyed D&Ding in their off-hours. Two still head the company. Rocky & Bullwinkle were the creations of two US citizens, animators with great senses of humor, Jay Ward and Bill Scott.

I had momentarily forgotten about that. Given that many people based in Edmonton tend to view those living in Calgary as a bunch of red-necked, racist hicks, it is quite possible that the founders of Bioware modelled Ust Natha on the said city. :D

That's why Rockie and Bullwinkle ARE Canadian. Most Canadian things are either made in the US and then sold to us, or sold to the US and then sold back to us. Like Tim Horton's, or soft wood lumber.

Onto lumber... Tamagami is the section of the woodlands where you enter the elven city. Notice the immense size of the trees.

Cernd represents the native populace.

Most average citizens are overtly polite.

I can't figure out Maple Syrup or Bacon... but I will.

The De Arnise Keep represents the Parliament Buildings.....invaded by regenerating trolls..... :p

and Nalia is like Alexa McDonough.....perpetually whining about helping the "less fortunate"...without the first idea of how to actually go about it......

So then does it need to be said that the Cowled Wizards are the Liberals?
Where do the Shadows Thieves fit in?

by blueguy
im not seeing any shadow thief connection... i cant think of one just yet, but one thing you might notice is the lack of any education system in Athkala... in ten years that just might be the same situation Toronto will be in

God, next time i start a new game im thinking of naming myself Stockwell Day

Shadow Thieves could be the Hells Angels biker gang up in Quebec.

Everybody knows about them and apparently no stopping them either.

Nah, the Shadow Thieves are the Liberals, although Edwin must have made a coup for the leadership.

Edwin=Our beloved PM Jean :D

Also, I think the Cowled Wizards are the Bloc Quebecois. Nobody listens to them. :p

The Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart must be the Progressive Conservatives. All goody-goods (Joe Clark refusing his pay raise). ;)

The Bhaalspawn are the Alliance Party. Everyone fighting for the top.

Finally, Noober is the Reform Party. No one cares. :D

Nalia is very NDP.

I would switch the Order and the Cowled wizards. The cowled wizards believe in restiricted freedom of expression and are all incredibly wealthy, they also tend to be bought of easily. Whereas the Order is obsessed with their own self-righteous crusade that nobody else cares about. That would make the Cowled wizard in Umar Joe Clark, and Keldor would be Lucien Bouchard... They are both pretty old and I am sure Keldorn will need a wooden leg someday.

Yeah Edwin is definetly Jean. I can see him getting mad and trying to strangle some one. Besides all the recent coruption stuff in the news seems to be very Edwinesk.

I tend to see the Cowled Wizards as represented by the BC Liberals....... A bunch of mean, uncaring bastards who would sell their mothers given half a chance..... (for those who do not know...the BC Liberals are nothing like the Federal Liberals.....they are even more to the Right than the Mike Harris Tories...)

Indeed, probably the only thing distinguishing Gordon Campbell and his henchmen from a Central American dictatorship is that they have not yet instituted death squads........

sorry....I got off topic here.....
