Improved Silver Dragon (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS BELOW;
I'm playing an evil/neutral party and I was greedy in the drow city and swapped the eggs for the magic item. The trouble is now the improved silver dragon is determined to stop me from ever leaving by refusing to be beaten.
My party is: PC bounty hunter lvl 12 dualled to a fighter, Korgan, Jaheira, Haer Dalis and Imoen. Everyone is on about the original SoA xp cap so no HLAs, Imoen can't cast 9th lvl spells yet and HD's bard song is not yet improved.
Improved dragons (from the Sola mod) I've beaten before but this is doing my head in. She DDs to where ever the PC is (even up the stairs...she can get through the damn arch now) and can chew through an AC of -21 in no time. The breath weapon isn't the problem (protection from cold stacks and lasts ages), its her fearsome physical attacks and endless wing buffets. Does anyone know what prevents being knocked back by wing buffets?
Oh and whenever she does become injured, she teleports away briefly and returns fully healed. Apparently she does this THREE TIMES BEFORE DYING. Wish I had a timestop...
Help very much required...

PS
On a happier note, I found someone who sells Mord's sword. If you go back to the duergar traders (the ones who tell you about the imprisoned mage), while still disguised as drow, they have a bigger inventory of stuff to sell...including Mord's sword scrolls. Been looking for a regular place to get that spell for ages...

Having never done that particular fight I can only suggest you set as many traps as you can, if you haven't already. but it's always a good tactic, since there hardly any enemies you'll encounter whom traps won't damage.

Well my trap laying isn't so hot...60% and I can only set six per day. They did damage her quite a bit though, but this was when she teleported away, healed and came back.

How on earth did you get to be so high level so soon? I'm just about to start chapter 7 and I'm only just touching 3,000,000 xp. Anyway, 60% is fine. You could set one in the place she goes to heal... a bit like my Kangaxx strategy (place one set of traps where the first form appears, and another set in the top corner. When he goes into the DemiLich form, use the ring of the Ram to push the DemiLich into the second set of traps. Course, I had to Simulicrum my thief to do that...)

I would guess that with the Sola mod (which I have also installed) the trap technique won't be effective against the silver dragon. I am presently dealing with the improved Firkragg, and as soon as I tried to lay down a trap he turned red and proceded to demolish my party by dancing around all over the damn cavern and generally wreaking complete havoc.
edit: ah okay....the mod must work differently on the silver dragon then....

She goes to heal in a secret dragon place, ie not on the game screen. And she does it very quickly

I did quite a few quests first (Trademeet, astral prison, etc) plus the Sola mod puts in a few extra encounters here and there.

Sweet. I wish Bioware had gone that.

Set your traps at the at the top flight of stairs and have your party stay there. Haste someone and have them run over to her and run back. She should ddoor to wherever your main character is and she should die. Took her out with 3 spike traps, dunno how many traps you'll need, but I don't think six normal traps are gonna do it. Anyways if you don't back off her she wont heal, or atleast that was what I experienced with the Shadow Dragon the other day. Have someone with seq. magic missle ready just in case the traps dont take her out. Time it right and she wont have time to heal. I think? lol.

Forget about traps, try a strategy. I never fought the silver dragon with improved dragon mod, but fighting the other dragons showed me that:
They have endless stoneskin, with timed casting.
They have dispell at will.
They will use Heal spell several times, with a timed script.
They will use an area spell to which they're immune, just like ice in the Silver dragon's case, and they will try to disrupt spellcasting with improved wing buffet (360 degrees) and a dragon breath right after the buffet, with bigger damage radius. Cold protection is not widely avaiable in the game, so you better buff quickly.
The best tactics is the thunder strike: Try to go and deal as much damage as you can and to dispell as many protection layers as they have at the same time. Two mages, two fighters, a healer and a thief can do the job quite easily (he's but one enemy). You need to buff high on potions, and use all habilities avaiable in the shortest time as you can.
I dont know if that particular dragon does that - but every other dragon gained the creeping doom hability. If you have a pally, send him in front, he'll probabily save vs death and then you charge with the rest of the crew, to avoid your mages being trapped on the insects.
