Sigh!
I want to enchant the stuff I got. I'm playing an orc warrior and enchanting stuff my self is almost impossible. My int is 40 and my enchant is 99..... But I still can't enchant ****.
To enchant even the smalest thing costs a fortune at the mage guilds. If I only had a vendor who could by my loot. I know there are mods to d/l but I don't want to cheat.
I was thinking about getting alot of comon sould gems and trap some ancestoral gosts in them and then sell them.... But I only have 5 common s.gems..... To bad!
Is there someone here whos got a money earning trick?
need alot of money If I'm going to enchant my daedric tower shield.......

SPOILER (?)

There's a lot of mods out there that work really well for this (just wish bethsoft would fix the Merchantile bug...), but if you want to do it the 'ol fashioned way make your way to Tel Branora.

Buy a bunch of common soulgems then fill them with Ancestral ghost souls (or equivilent to 4k gp/100 charges) and then go to Caldera and 'camp' the Creeper to make a fortune. If this post is vague, I'm sorry about that, but I'd hate to spoil your fun any more than this little tip may.

OKEY..

Thanx......
Damn I need 130 000 gold to enchant my shield.... no way I'm going to satand and sumon ghosts and sleep until I have that money when I got stuff thats worth more than that.
Okey, now it's time to d/l a vendor whos got cash. What mod should I choose? I've read something about a mod called Zed. Is that a good one? I'm only interested in selling stuff. And I would like to know if the mod destroys something in the game.... and so on..... Thanx again.

I haven't used Zed, but I heard it was kinda buggy (third-person rumor and all), but Shakti has a nice merchant mod that works well with the in-game teleport spells called "Shakti_Temple_Fences".

Get it here:

have fun :)

Unzip it into your Morrowind data files directory. Enable it by going into the Morrowind start menu and clicking on data files. Check the box to activate the plug-in. If you don't like it, uncheck it and all it's effects vanish from your Morrowind game. Very simple :)

I used this one myself for awhile because I just hated to leave all those high-value weapons on the floor because nobody could buy them, but the money adds up quickly and honestly gets to be a bore. By the time you're able to enchant all your armor, weapons, etc. you'll probably find better stuff. I had absolutely no problems with the mod, however. It ran great, did what the readme said it would do and vanished in a virtual puff of smoke when I no longer had a use for it ;) .

Zed is a little buggy. The maker threw in the gravepit sounds from the ancestral tombs around zed, and for some reason this tends to crash the game when zoning into his spot of balmora. Not all the time, but enough to be annoying. He also seems to have played with fog values, as balmora is a hell of a lot foggier for me with zed then it is without.

I'm about to toss ol'Zed out of my datafiles. I just have to find a better merchant mod.

In truth, I really like the Shakti_Fences mod. They're out of the way, have lots of cash, don't bug my game up and they're conveniently located for a quick 'Loot n' Scoot' on the Daedra shrines when I'm low on drakes :)

So first you say you aren't going to cheat then you say you are just because it's not easy to get huge amounts of money? The game was set up so it would actually be fun with a bit of realism mixed in. You can't just go in, and after a few days of play time expect to get one of the coolest enchantments in the game. Thats why vendors don't have tons of gold on them!! Without cheating, I have accumulated 120k after playing for about a week and a half... Using a merchant mod so you can easily get the best items in the game is the same as just using the console command for getting free gold. Just use the console if you want to cheat.
The devs made vendors poor for a REASON.

I have to agree with the Doc that it's just good RPing to work with what you have early in the game, without trying to cheese loot. It adds to the experience the first time through when you don't have the money to get/create everything you want. When you're a decent level, have good items and are really just goofing around to see what Morrowind has left to offer you, then it's time to start accumulating cash for enchanting experiments and the like.

There's a bank mod out there that allows you to invest your money and is true to the ES theme. Once you have plenty of cash, just stash some money in the 'Bank of Vvardenfell' and forget about the high-value loot, if you're not going to use it. At some point money isn't an issue regardless if you use a mod, cheat/cheese or get it the old-fashioned way...it's no longer a driving force behind your character's actions :)
