isnt it part of one of the quests in the place loaded with shadowed elves (memory foggy) - something to do with either the garden or the place where u "put to rest" the elven clerics (not sure - just a remnant of a though)

Denaini the priest at Solonar Tower 1 ask you to brink her a Barrel of Holy Water in order to restore the pools there. There is also a Barrel of Pure Water which is needed from Valestis, the Elf at Correllon tower 4 of the Severed Hand, in order to restore his garden.

Indeed so, he asks you to bring animals and water to revive the garden, but I never did finish that quest...

I've finished the quest but its not very rewarding, whats surprising for that kind of running around from one corner of the map to the other.

I didn't finish it first time either, however on my fourth try i managed to get around to it.
SPOILER:
You need the following:
Seeds Malavon in Lower Dorn's Deep
Water Joril's (frost giants) cave, after a fight with a priest of Auril there is a casket/keg with pure water in it
Animals you can find this in lower dorn's deep after you have finished the quest for the Sfvernibilien(sp?) you walk through to the underground and talk to a merchant (who has a rather interesting story, pursue the bit about elves) You buy both a squirrel and the caged bird.
Go back to Valestis and you will obtain some (not much) XP, i think it is 40'000 or something.

Thread necromancy, but this is one of the first results that shows up on Google when looking up the quest. I just wanted to say that the above poster is wrong about the low XP, you get 240,000 just for the pure water. No idea about the other two items yet, but I'm guessing they're more than 40k as well.
