mods/editing for the fashion-conscious?

What a paradox.
Here I am, a covert agent, thief and assassin with a dubious track record. Specializing in stealth over pure power, I've killed and I've stollen. I know what I want to further my nefarious ways, and I've taken it by any means necessary. A little bit o' magic goes a long way for today's trendy killer, but why must I advertise this fact with shimmers and sparkles? Why must a little extra oomph make me look like Tinkerbell?
So the question is, does anybody know of a mod or tutorial for removing that nauseating shimmer of magical items? While I'm at it, I wouldn't mind being able to alter the appearance of my clothing/armour. After all, how hard it would it be for one of Morrowind's many skilled clothiers to sew a little netch leather over some green glass bracers (which apparently have a nasty habit of carving their way into the light of day from under a nondescript brown pilgrim's robe). Hell, maybe they can't remove the unsightly tumours from the Savior's Hide, but they gotta be able to help a bit, right?
Can someone please help this poor assassin look a little less like Elton John?

Also, where the heck is all the sexy black clothing?
All these fruity colors, and not a single bit of assassinwear.
=/

Yeah Cross, me wonders the same.
I always wear black in RPGs, in UO I never left my tower without black plate, in EQ I was the only troll in complete blackened mail, and in Morrowind i just cant find a stinking black plain robe !!!
Thats what most pisses me of in Morrowind.
Loke someone other said before:
Style is Important !
And after all im an Assassin too, forced to backstab people while glowing like a damn x mas tree.
That sux, bigtime.

When Caius leaves for the mainland, he leaves you some magic clothing. A magic black pair of pants and a magic black shirt.

Okay, one anti-Elton-John mod, coming up:
http://www.morrowind-mods.com/misc.htm
"magic item change mod", halfway down the page. Note it's not an actual mod, just revised textures. Follow the included instructions.

The files do the job
I installed this one a while back and it does what it says. You still see a gleam on the enchanted items underwater, but it's not really an issue.

That's just the added waterproofing that enchanted items get. A little bonus the enchanters throw in. The best part is they still breathe for those hot desert trecks.

i actually like the shimmer...
what i REALLY WANT is more selection of rings amulets and clothes...
for the fashion contious enchanter,
yellow pants???!!!!
i would never wear those in real life!!!
I mean, some choices, here...
if you want the high extra points available with exquiste clothes, and if you run around in exquistes people like you more...the only way to bear to look at yourself is in full armor...
and a bigger selection or ring designs and amulet designs mean that you can easily tell your constant effect rings from blasto rings and etc....
i am particularly annoyed at the fact exquiste ring type one looks frigging identical to ring type 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and you only get one choice for pendant...
grrr.............
looks good, but needs more!!!
once you decide to power game, your next and most obvious fun is in dressing well, gaming to collect cool looking loot....
like the bear claw helm, not only is it the best enchanted helm in game, but the nicest looking too...

Actually, the Mask of Clavicus Vile probably beats the bearclaw helm for looks. 'Course, it's also a closed helm, so if seeing your characters face is important to you then it looses it's appeal. It's also not as good a helm as the bearclaw, but hey, it looks good.

ive worn both, and the bear claw looks better...
the masque looks rather ugly, imho....
but it is a really good item to have if you plan NOT to join mages guild....
a 100 speechcraft is such a sweet skill....
and only if you join mages guild and get to high levels will skinks teach you speech craft....
the bear claw will up your endurace and agility...way better than any item you cast yourself, thus you get better hit points per level up, yes, its true....
and even if your block is good, if you go for one handed weapons you will want the agility bonus...good for thieves as well, and i really like the look....
way better than the crappy squid helm in my first game....

If you want some stylish armor for your assassin, go and download the Ninjamod halfway down the page :
http://www.morrowind-mods.com/new%20files.htm
It adds ninja armor to the game, wich is nearly complete black and looks damn nice IMO.
Ok the helmet sucks but I prefer to go without helmets anyway.
And the armorrating is too high, it has 60 (glass has 50) so I tuned it down with the editor.

i dont want stylish armor, i want stylish clothes....
yeah, with dragon bone, helm of bear claw and some nice daedric pieces, you look twice as mean as death...bethesda did NICE work on the killer armor...
but the clothes look so bad....
and rings and smulets REALLY need more choices...

seriously...i really like being the only assassin type in tameriel walking around in full daedric artifact plate armor....
after corpus, heavy plate is about as encumbering as leather, so i sorta role play into it...
i am such a mean %^$#@!* i can wear heavy plate like it was leather...
and besides, i am a serious fan of the uber cahmeloeon trick....wear enougfh constant effect chameo, and you can backstab anyone for monster damage...

What's really needed in Morrowind are some cool surfie or homie clothes. How about a dark elf walking about in FUBU plate armour or a argonian wearing boardies and a hawaiian shirt? Speaking of surfies and skaties, we need some skateboards and surfboards
