More help needed

The game runs, so now I can get to the main menu. However, as soon as I click on any button (new game, options...) my system slows to a crawl. My mouse gets extramly choppy, and I can get no further. I am pretty sure it's not due to memory or cpu speed with a i gig processor and close to 400 meg RAM. I am not so sure about video though, I have a Hercules Prophet 64 Meg 3d card, but so far have not been able to do anything that helps.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas, or seen this problem before. The thing is, there are games I can't get to run with this card, but so far they have only been EA Sports games like Madden 2002. I would consider getting a new card, but want to try and see if this is a common problem before I fork out the bucks.

The game was having trouble with some Voodoo model video cards similar with just as you descriped, Here is what i found in the readme.txt:

There is a known cursor slowdown for Voodoo 3 users when a menu overlaps another menu, or
when dialogue appears and you have selected 32 bit color; this can be avoided if the
desktop is set to 16 bit color.

Give it a try. :)

I'll try that, I have it set to 32 bit. :)

Still no go. It bumps my CPU usage up to 100%. I don't have anything else running though.

Then i would suggest to try and get the latest drivers for both your video card and directX(if you haven't), i don't know what else could fix the problem (expect that buying a new video card :) ).

That's what I was thinking, I already have the latest drivers, and have had problems with a couple other games, but wanted to make sure this wasn't some common issue, as I have heard this game was kinda buggy.

I don't think I will buy a Hercules card next time though. :)

Thanks
