I have been to 2 different 6th house bases and both of them had 6 bells and a hammer, do those bells have a reason? Is there an order in which I have to ring them? What will happen if I do?

It's a good question. I'd like to think there's some hidden easter egg involving those bells.... but if there is, it's well hidden as no one has found it.

The hammer's a nice weapon though and I believe that it has quite a few enchantment points. At any rate, maybe we'll discover the 'secret of the bells' at a later date, or maybe someone will expand on the storyline sometime in the future :)

EDIT: Hint to modders...

Just a guess, but I suspect Cjdevito is right. I imagine if you hit the bells in a certain order, you'll get an easter egg. It's the perfect set up for one, but I imagine we won't know until somebody at Bethsoft sneaks the info out.

@Fable:

Well, go ask 'em :)

It would be nice if we discovered things ingame for months (incl. easter eggs and such). It's a cool game and I'm sure we'll be experimenting with it for awhile.

On another note (I started a thread about it...that no one answered *grumble*): When is the patch due out?

I tried playing chariots of fire on them, but they're out of tune and it did nothing! Booo!

Maybe try the following:

Hot Cross Buns = basket of bread

Mary Had A Little Lamb = your own pack guar

Row Row Row Your Boat = your own ship (a la Daggerfall)

Amazing Grace = summons a Golden Saint to soultrap

The Entertainer = a fat lute

Rock-A-Bye Baby = instantly cancels levitation spells (down you come, cradle and all)

Itsy-Bitsy-Spider = summons a centurion spider

Happy Birthday = instant level-up

Three Blind Mice = a pack of rats

Now that would be funny. Sort of. Man, can you tell I'm bored at work...

I'm bored too.

The fundamental problem is that they're really off-tune. They're not a note away from eachother. =(

So annoying to play!

They *are* a note away from one another--if the scale they use employs the notes on those bells. Major sections of the world still don't use the well-tempered septonic scale that we do, and the results can be enjoyable, or ear-splitting--depending upon your set of ears. ;)

possibly doorbells?

I noticed in the one base I went to that there was a long side passage which ended with a big round boulder blocking the way. Looking at the map, it kinda looks like there might be more there, if you get my drift. Perhaps the bells unlock to boulder, if one has to code. Can't see much reason for that passage otherwise except as a red herring.
