Too many items and what's the gold for?

As I wade through the lower catacombs of Myth Dranonr, I wonder......
Why do I keep getting new and fancy items?
Why are there no vendors to buy my finds?
Why can't I go buy useful stuff from the Nottle?
Also I have tens of thousands of GP and there's nothing to buy and no ransoms to pay.
Does anyone else get the feeling that he's just going around collecting stuff for the heck of it?
Or is there a big super marelt at the end where I can sell all of my stuff and buy +10 armor?

It has been discussed for a couple of times here. The buy/sell is pretty much useless, there are too few merchants in the game and they are not offering anything special, and if they do by the time you meet them you will probably have better equipment. Just keep with you the best weapons and anything you find necessary or useful and drop the other.

Thats actually a really good advice, i found myself with tons of heavy stuff after first set of dungeons, and after i sold them i had about 200000-300000 gp,and i couldnt actually buy anything usefull,so i just didnt pick up weapons like +3 cuz i already got better stuff, and it takes you too much time to get to the surface and sell all the junk

Thanks for the advice.
I've already had a couple of sessions of dropping stuff.
I've been somewhat lazy in that I looked yesterday and found that I was still wearing some plus one rings, etc. when I had better items in my inventory. So for none of the encounters have beenso harsh that I needed to re-equip my characters accordning the the battle.
Oh well. Still fun.
I think I'm almost done too.

I know what you mean, i kept with me every single magic item to a point that when i tried to use the better ones i could consume a couple of hours to see what suits me best. After some point i just couldn't bother anymore, i kept anything that looked appealing or was too great to drop.

Right.
PnP rules just don't apply in a computer came.
I've never had a character who was so wealthy that he'd just throw away a plus one ring of protection.
I guess it's like the admonition in the Black Isle Games. they tell you to use your magic items.
I usaully am inclined to save my poions of full healing, etc until the end of the game, but in POR it's just easier to use one than cast "heal" or rest.
Basically what we've learned here is that the ruins of Myth Dranonr are full of stuff that no one really feels like carrying out of the dungeon.
