When you're working with computers the simplest things can fix the problem.
Try reinstalling, defragmenting,
do you have any patches, or add-ons installed?

So true. So very true!
@baudib, have you installed the XP compatability updates from the Microsoft windows update site?

Hmmm, seems I have a problem with CD2. I tried doing a full install and it has a problem with area030, it says Cyclic redundancy error or something...
any chance someone could send me a copy of Disc 2? I would pay for it and all...

@ baudib --
Why don't you try to contact Bioware and explain your problem?
They may be able to help you by providing a single copy of Disc 2 -- replacing the old one or selling it to you in case your purchase of the product was done a long long time before.
Cheers
