I started a game in SOA. Played all the way through TOB. I get to the part in TOB where.....stop reading if you haven't beaten the game yet.......you go through the planer pocket one last time to the throne of blood. It does an auto save, then the screen comes up that shows the game loading the new area. However, this is where I am having problems. It asks me to insert the TOB disk in the CD drive. I have the disk in the drive however. Everytime I eject it and insert it again, I get the same message. Here is some background into what I have going on.

1. I have beaten the game before, and had no problems.
2. I have installed the following MODS since I last beat it...
-Kelsey
-Tashia
-Sola
-Acension
3. I am running off a full install

I thought my game save file might be bad. I loaded my game onto a zip disk and took it over to my girlfriends house. I moved it into her save game folder. I then loaded up my save game and I was able to go to the throne of blood on her system. She is running all the same MODS as I am. Has anyone seen this happen before? If so what can I do to fix it? Any suggenstions where I go to find the answer? Thanks in advance.

Well, if your install was unable to play the save you want, but you could play it off your gf's install, why not reinstall? It doesn't take all that long, and if you make sure to remove everything you should be alright with the new install, when you've reinstalled the exact same mods and patches (patches first :) ) that you had before.

It's possible that your CD-ROM drive can't read part of your disc, so the game can't load the new area. If that's the case, you could get the file from someone or borrow someone else's disc. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you.

I don't think this is a game problem, it sounds like your CD-ROM drive or the ToB CD itself is malfunctioning. Check your CD for any scratches, and do a cleaning of your drive. Try again afterwards

BG Romancing

Man, you can't imagine how lucky u r to have a girlfriend who appreciates the finer points (or any points at all) of BG. Mine hates it, says she can't understand how I can sit in front of this box for hours on end listening to 'Run Boo! Run' and clicking on little red circles.
She's in the next room watching Dallas, to be followed by Walker, Texas Ranger. Now that's a profitable use of time, ain't it?

Thanks everyone for your input. Yes, I am truly blessed. My girlfriend and I have been playing BG2 together for over a year now. We run multi-player sessions on a LAN at her house. I am going to keep trying to figure out whats wrong. If I figure it out, I will post it.
