Silent King throne room problem (spoiler)

Hi everyone,
Thought there might be someone else who experienced this. After I accessed the throne room, discovered the secret of the silent king, and talked to Hagrim, I had the option to take the throne and be king. When I did take it, however, the game froze. It happens every single time, and already on two different computers. Could this be a bug?

how do you get to the throne room, without stealing the key and killing everybody? do you have to kill many-as-one first? because i cant kill him, at least not with my weapons.

You have to have a Charisma stat of at least 16, from what I've read in this forum (I have 18). Then you talk to Stale Mary, and a dialogue option becomes available where you request that she help you meet the Silent King. She points you to one of the walls and a portal opens up when you go there.

I think this is the game designers' idea of a joke. When you offer to take the throne, Hargrimm warns you that you won't be able to leave the throne until you experience True Death (no more waking up in the Mortuary--no more
anything, for that matter). So what else do you expect to happen in the game if you take the throne?

Thanks for the fix, Platter. I'll give it a try. I'm very curious about what kind of loophole might let the Nameless One leave the throne.

A bit unrelated, but I tried to open the portal to the throne room, after I had exposed the Soego spy and the skeleton priest allowed me to leave, and it wouldn't let me. I still get the dialogue when I walk up to the portal arch but the only option I get is to leave it alone. Oh, and the zombie lady was still alive.
