Chapter 1 finale ...

Portal into the Hold area .. near a farm.
Headed up to the gate and met the stranger.
Enter the Hold courtyard and battle some undead.
Enter the Hold itself and in the room are 4 animated armors, and only one door out of the room.
There is a "Hand" statue in the middle of the room with an inscription.

...

I am assuming that you need to put something on the hand ...
just opening the door will cause the armors to attack.

What do I need to do here to get past these things ?

Outside in the courtyard, check the corpses, when I played it there was only one searchable corpse, and he has a gem (or some similar item, maybe its a stone or something, but its small) on him and thats the gem that you place on the hand. Thats where I found it anyways.

You can also take the side entrance in the courtyard and there is a cave entrance if you search the surrounding area.
