Baldur's Gate final maze

I have stomped the Dopplegangers in the Ducal palace, even though I am severely handicapped with a reputation of "despised -2" (I had to use cheats to do this). Serevok has Teleported away.

I also was teleported(as you said) to the thieve's guild and the belowdecks maze. I snuck past the "Doomguards, but cannot get past the trap and the Skeleton warriors. Soooo....
Can I get my good reputation back? and what's the strategy for getting past the nasty skeleton warriors?

Great Site! Thanks Jacks73.

Go to a temple and make donations in order to get your rep back. Look in the manual for the correct amounts to donate.

Remove the traps while invisible if possible (use potions). Then buff your party with Chant, Haste etc. A good idea is to make your melee fighters invisible so they can get close to the skeleton warriors before attacking (the fire arrows of the skellies do huge damage as you've noticed). Then concentrate all efforts towards a single skeleton. When it's dead you move on to the next one.

If this doesn't work well enough, add loads of summons as well (spells and wands).

Maybe you should level up some more (what level are you?)
Cause when you have trouble with skeleton warriors, sarevok and gang will be hell!

Well, if you have enough cash, you could just sneak by them all by purchasing 5 potions of invisibility, and having the mage cast it (invisibility/improved invisibility) on him/herself. Or if you have TotSC, someone could use the ring of invisibility. Sneak past, don't attack, and disarm traps (you are still invisible as long as you don't attack, lockpick, loot, etc.)

I think Stilgar is right. If the skeleton warriors are still too big of a problem you probably don't want to face Sarevok and his boys. Or, for that matter, that other unpleasant party on the way to his lair.

If you get a thief and hate them, then hide in shadows you can get up to the trap and remove it without too much damage. Then the thief can retreat back to the last corner you turned (where your party is convieniantly waiting) the skeletons follow and you can attack them in meele combat which is far easier.

RE: Stilgar and The Z-HUH?

Stilgar and The Z.

Level? I was at the max of 89000 when I got dropped to despised -2. So what ever max level that was(I don't wanna to go back and look right now) it's my level now. I decided to tough it out in this condition and was doing pretty good until now.

Maybe I'm in over my head and will have to go back and buy my respectability back. That Is- if it will let me. I just didn't want to mess with angelo and his crummy cops again.

Thanks to my first advice here my group is still alive. I bog the bad guys down with zillions of animated dead and monsters and stand back and drill em with slayer and biting arrows, wands of heaven, fire arrows, cloud-kill, etc, etc. Up until now it worked.

I appreciate all the help and enjoy my socks off playing Bauldur's.

I bought both Baldur's II and Icewind Dale, so I have all this future fun to enjoy. Thanks Jack.

Your welcome. :) I'd like to recommend the expansion to BG1 as well, Tales of the Sword Coast. It will raise the XP from 89K to 161K and provide some nice quests and a major dungeon crawl. Then you have the expansion to BG2, Throne of Bhaal, the two expansions to IWD, Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster (free download!), the amazing Planescape: Torment, the excellent newly released Neverwinter Nights and finally IWD2 to come in a month... Lucky you!

Where to get Sword Coast & Thanks

Hey, Astafas and other helpers. I Stomped Sarevok and company and WON!

Thanks to you and all the crew here!

Took all the neat advice given here. Went back and regained my Rep. It was one heck of a battle and I died many times Until finally I got smart and snuck up just out of range of Saravock and blasted his area with both the cloud and bad green gas spells. Loaded area with monsters and skeletons and blasted Tazok and Sarevok with everything but the kitchen sink! Yay!

Okay- Astafas. Great suggestion! Where's a good place online to buy the Sword Coast Expansion?

Again, Thanks troups! Jack

Starting Baldur's II

Ok I dumped B1 except for the "Saves" folder and the "Characters" folder.
Installed B2, downloaded the Patch for same. I assume the patch installed. there is nothing that tells you if it did. ?

I will buy Sword coast and do that next. While waiting, I will have fun getting familiar with B2. When Sword Coast comes I'll play it. Then I will restart B2.

Meanwhile- I renamed the "character" folder "Character.2" and dragged it to the B2 folder. I don't know what else to do to make my old character file available to B2. I'm not a windows person, so I spend a lot of time guessing what will work.

Then I imported (I thought) my original Characters, but the only original who showed up was Gladin the Good, Palladin. The rest were other characters from B1. Jaheira, Moen, Kailder, Minsc, etc. Happily, Gladin had all his original power. This normal? Remember hearing here that one only got certain characters from the old games.

One other strange thing... My in-play cursor in B2 is an hourglass. This is distracting. This normal? If not, What am I doing wrong? If I went about this all wrong, I'd appreciate you folks telling me how to do it right.

Thanks Jack

Only your main character gets continued - for ther other NPCs just play on, no your cursor shouldn't be an hourglass and if it bothers you that much I would reinstall.

Bad Cursor(Cont)

Thanks, Giant Space Ham! I will reinstall, not only for the cursor, but I can see that I'm gonna have to wake up and pay more attention to stategy by "double-saving" so that I always go into a situation with two viable saved backups allowing me to try "plan B."

I blew it with the Dryads in chapter 1. I should have run out of the room and past the Dryads to engage the Golems. As a result two of the dryads got wasted and the third understandably turned hostile. Those dang little smoke Mephibs are giving me fits. So, it's time to retrace and Re-install. I'm gonna love this game!

Thanks Jack. - (How often do I get to talk to a relative of a Pork Chop?! :-) (Just kidding! My wierd sense of humor gets away from me occasionally.)

You need to have a bunch of bowmen ready, then lure the skeletons towards them and FIRE!

(It worked for me)

You can smoke the golems in there little "Garage" before you trip the alarm that turns em on

I actually only met the golems one time (played through teh game at least 10 times if not more) As sson as you trigger the alarm get the stuff and run for the exit. Theonly prob with this is if you want to get some loot from other people and haven't got it yet, but you should take the loot b4 going and sounding the alarm
