I'm pretty new at the game so I havent seen much. Bust so far the best weapon for me has been the Nordic Claymore since my character is good with long blades, I have it enchanted now and its kills people very easily. What are some of your guys favorite weapons and what do you think are the best long blades, short blades, axes, bows ect?

I, too, was initially wowed by the claymore - one does look cool in the wielding of it, certainly - but have come to favor Ebony and Deadric shortswords, even over one-handed longswords: the lower max damage is more than compensated by the higher min damage, I feel: they hold more enchantment; they weigh less; and can be used with shields.

If you like the Nordic claymore, wait till you get the Dwarven one ;) Or the Glass one - Glass weapons are the coolest-looking, IMHO.

I'm not sure if this thread is still running, but WHAT IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT?!?!!? The Deadric Battle Axe does is the BEST weapon in the game. It does 80, 70 and 5 (thrust) damage, and looks like it came straight from hell. Enchant it or whatever you like, and it just gets better. You can find one in a cave near the Urshilaku camp, you'll need to be able to pick a lock and fight off a couple of golden saints, but hey, my level 43 Orc warrior didn't have much trouble.

Well most of you guys are LIGHT YEARS ahead of me in this game, but for a fellow nubee, I have learned to enchant fairly well and have a SoulSnatcher Silver Staff, A Dwemer Claymore with Paralize , and a Nordic Claymore with Shock and Flame that is awsome. My Glass long sword is verrry cool too. I almost never use my bound weapons (I have them all), because by the time I get into trouble, I just start swinging and I need something in my hand, at least untill I am a better gamer... :)

Does anyone know of a "Thumb Trainer" ?

Scayde, sounds like you have found some pretty nifty items for early in the game.

SomeDumbOrc, yes. I agree with you. Those axes do do a truck load of damage. Thats why I included it in my best items list there, under the axe catagory.

Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of using a daedric battleaxe as yet, I only have the one-handed war axe. It's a tough decision between the daedric claymore and the ice blade of the monarch but at the end of the day the claymore does more raw damage, doesn't run out of charge and, most important of all, looks great

Thanx Ty..
I really owe UU a nod here, {UU, All those longwinded posts are read and apreciated after all .*G*G*G*}
The items were all pretty standard before I enchanted them., I had to hire someone to enchant the Dwemer Claymore though, I busted 6 soul gems trying and gave up.........The guy upstairs in the Mages Guild at Caldera is pretty reasonable and...when you aregetting started, ... good place to barter some high dollar loot for K***A** enchantments on your favorite weapons.

I am looking forward to finding the items you posted on...

I like using longswords alot and I've grown to like the Nordic Broadsword alot, I think the stats are 18-18-18 its pretty good overall and since its one handed you can have a shield too.

You fellas apparently haven't gotten your hands on Black Hand's Dagger yet. It's a ridiculous weapon--a daedric dagger with Absorb Health 10 to 25 points for 30 seconds, as well as blind. One hit will kill any creature in the game, with the exception of Lord Vivec himself, and will continuously heal you while it saps the life right out of your unfortunate victim. Golden Saints, Ascended Sleepers, Dagoth Ur himself... these things do not concern the wielder of this dagger. Did I mention it has 2550 charges? :D

If Bethsoft has any wherewithal whatsoever, they will severely nerf this weapon in an upcoming patch (provided they even release one). It isn't even difficult to acquire.

The name of that dagger sounds very, very familiar. I believe I found it/aquired it with a character that wasnt proficient with the short blade proficientcy. Under spoiler notes-can you remind me where you found that dagger?

Spoiler:

Black Hand's Dagger is given to you as a reward for completing all of Eno Hlaalu's "special duties" quests for the Morag Tong. Eno Hlaalu will offer to retire afterwards, leaving you with the position of Grandmaster in the guild.

Thats what it was. Thanks. Though, I have never completed all the special duties, yet. Though I do know of its existance. I havent found all 27 threads-he told me where 15 of them were but then he just stopped telling me where to find the other sanguine stuff is. So Ive been searching blindly and basically stopped doing Morag Tong stuff for a while.

i use the daedric crescent. it doesnt do that much damage, but it paralizes the target for 10 seconds and damages their armor.

Surprised

I can't believe no one mentionned Umbra a two-handed long blade. I restarted the game shortly after acquiring it. Fights weren't challenging anymore (I never tried to take on a hord of pissed of guardsmen though).

Maybe I'm not far enough along yet, but anything stronger than that ..........

I guess I'll find out.
