Is this ****er immuned to magic or spell whatever you cast? No way to challenge him on magic?

IIRC, you'll need at least +4 weapons to beat Demi-Liches. I usely cast Khelben's Warding Whip before going toe-to-toe with a Lich with my Berserker (Berserker Rage = Immunity to Maze/Imprisonment).

hmm
if u have further trouble beating demi-liches, try changing into the slayer. Also there is the incredibly lame Protection from magic spells hehe. Just protect yourself from alteration i think, could be wrong as i dont have my BG2 manuel n me hehe. Anyway if all else fails, try trapping the other side of the room (i'm assuming you're fighting Kangaxx here) while he's docile, lay a few more at his feet to defeat his normal lich form, and then use the ring of the ram to send him flying towards them

A really chezzy way to do it is to just cast prot. from magic scroll with a simulcraneum (sp?) and then you are immune to imprison ment. Use crom feyr or staff of ram to slowly kill him

just use a protection from undead scroll, i used that method...i know its cheesy but after trying to kill it 10 time and failing each time i didn't really care.

If I recall correctly, the Demi-Lich has no magic resistance, but he has 90% resistance to physical damage. That sounds like a perfect opportunity for a Mage duel to me!
The key to defeating the Demi-lich is to protect your Mage from his spells and to cut through his defenses. Spell Immunity: Abjuration will protect your Mage from Imprisonment. Ruby Ray of Reversal, Khelban's Warding Whip, Pierce Shield, and Spellstrike will take down most of his spell defenses (Spell Turning, etc). True Sight will counteract spells such as Mislead, etc. Spells that cause fire damage are probably the most effective offensive spells, since the Demi-Lich doesn't have resistance against fire, if I recall correctly.
I wouldn't say that killing a lich is easy, but if you know how to do it, they're toast.

Protection from Undead Scrolls are still the simplest way to do it
and if you have mace of disruption, Liches have a really horrible save vs death so they go down in one or two shots, thats the simplest way to kill then. Im not sure about pret. from magic, but i think it needs to be Abjuration.

Demi-Liches are immune to lots and lots of specific spells (Charm, Chaos, Confusion, Death Spell, Imprisonment, Stun, etc), but I'm not sure if they have magic resistance, per se.
I've killed Kangaxx the Demi-Lich with Melf's Minute Meteors (among other things) and I think I killed the Demi-Lich with Dragon's Breath (among other things). Maybe they have magic resistance but no fire resistance. Either way, spells that do fire damage will get the job done.

After what seemed like an infinite number of attempts to kill Kangaxx I gave up and resorted to a scroll of protection from magic. If I remember rightly demi-liches have no physical attack

I could withstand most of his spells but even wielding Carsomyr, the imprisonment got me every time.

I have to try that out

it sounds so cool. I never actually thought of killing Kandax another way than to smash him with a worrior, I'll try it next time I go to kill him

Kill Demi Lich
After reading all your suggestions, I sent my Paladin with Carshomir and protection from undead and a magician with protection against spell and daistar, both of them invisible and improved hasted. The demi-lich runs away to the upper level and succed to imprissonned one of my party member waiting outside before we kill it. It took a total of 45 secondes at the most. This demi lich is the one in Throne of Bhaal in the fourth level of the tower.

Easy when we know...

The major problem for my lvl. 35 monk was the lich´s imprisonment, so after losing to it about a dozen times, I slayer changed. (immune to imprisonment, or is it magic?).

I sent in Edwin alone, Protection from magic Abjuration, silicrum, staff of magi and ring of ram. Dead in less than a minute.

Carsomyr, Protection from Undead (or Magic), Daystar for Sunray worked well for me. Actually if you have a lot of those protection scrolls, you could grab your cleric and have him cast as many Sunrays/False Dawn as possible. Ring of the Ram also did damage if I recall correctly.

the easy way, send in mage, i sent immie in for bragging rights....
with prot from undead or spell immunity abjuration, and cast one and only one dragon breath....
will kill instantly...
bad breath bypasses ALL magic resistance, and does the job very well...
no silly stuff about melf or energy blades...
actually i found kangys first form to be a mjor pain, and usually set up 6-10 delay blast fierballs at spawn point...
he likes to cast abu, and thats always a pain....

Demiliches are immune to level 1-9 spells, excluding most quest spells...
