Nice swords - potential spoiler

I had been using a Daedric Longsword looted from a shrine in the basement of St Olms. On the island where Dagon Fel is situated I then found a Daedric Katana in a smugglers' cave. A few minutes later I found the Iceblade of the Monarch in Rotheran, a two-handed monster which suits my human tank approach to the game perfectly - the heaviest armour, the biggest swords!! All I need now is some heavier armour, ebony is ok but I want more!

Not got Sunder or Keening yet, I'm still in the fairly early stages of the game, a puny level 18. I'm just about to max out my long blade skill, I think I will then start developing my axe skill. I've already paid for training to level 40 or so and I left a Daedric axe stashed in the shrine near Ald Velothi - bloody thing weighed in at about 72 lbs!!!!!! I'm also trying to develop my magic but I can't be bothered casting endless puny spells so I'm just looting everything I can find and paying the mages' guild for training. I haven't quite got the hang of enchanting weapons/items yet. I enchanted my Daedric longsword to paralyze on strike but that didn't seem to work too well, everything I hit resisted magic or died on the first blow. Maybe I need a golden saint soul and a grand soul gem to get the really good enchantments going? Best I have so far is a storm atronach soul.

daedric battle axes are great, but my current fav weapon is bound axe with +41 axe skill!!!!
its just as effective as sunder, and even gives umbra sword a run for the money...
in my opinion, the umbra sword is the best sword in the game...
it kills saints for harvest in 3 swacks...
go to tel brannora, and go all the way up to theannas room, a person in there can teach you summon saints spell, make an item, and while grand gems are hard to find, go do the azura star quest......

Thanks very much, I shall take your advice. In the meantime a reluctant Dremora Lord coughed up a Daedric claymore. Wow! How do I choose between that and the Ice Blade of the Monarch? I need a good reserve weapon (long blade skill 105 with belt of sanguine hewing) in case I come across anything I can't kill with my fiend axe and paltry skill - 51 and I cheated and bought training up to 50!! It's going to be hard to develop my spear, blunt weapon and shortblade skills, I shall have to find an awful lot of rats/scribs/etc to kill!!! BTW that Dremora Lord nearly killed me when I took him on with the axe.
