K, I was able to open the portal with the special 3 word rune....I think it was nether, shall, rule. Anyways I get into the ancient crypt and clear the place out, but I cant find anything special....is the ancient artifact here or not? If you know please let me know where it is.

No, there's no artifact and you won't find one in Chap 2. You're just looking for evidence of cult location.
